As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's evolution.
What you’ll do
Primary Responsibilities:
Owning & executing medium-complex Mechanical sub-system projects to design, develop, optimize, & implement design solutions in Lam Products. These projects would be driven as part of NPD, Continuous Improvement Programs (CIP), cost reduction and/or reliability improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with both internal and external Cross Functional Teams (CFT) to ensure the product design meets its objectives, validate the design through performance testing & obtain approvals by following Product Development & Release (PDR) process.
Develops & presents reports/presentations of excellent quality that communicate design intent,



analysis & validation at design reviews.
Develops & execute test plans that generate characterization data sufficient to understand and validate the performance of the design.
Performs analytical work in order to characterize and properly specify designs, including heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid/gas dynamics and manufacturability. Design and develop thermo-mechanical components with understanding of fluid flow characteristics.
Other Job Responsibilities
Design parts using metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings and works with potential suppliers to ensure parts can be manufactured in accordance with performance and cost objectives.
Provide immediate response & timely resolution to escalations & design related production issues encountered during the pilot as well as HVM build process.
Accountable for releasing complete engineering drawings & bill of materials per engineering change manage
