Key Responsibilities
- Design and format educational, academic, children’s, reference, and general books using Adobe InDesign.
- Independently handle complete book projects of approximately 200 pages or more.
- Design chapter opening pages, tables, activities, text boxes, worksheets, headers, footers, and other book elements.
- Maintain consistent styles, margins, typography, spacing, grids, and page numbering throughout the book.
- Create and manage InDesign master pages, paragraph styles, character styles, table styles, and object styles.
- Generate or create suitable images, illustrations, diagrams, icons, and visual elements based on the book content.
- Use Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Photoshop, and suitable AI image-generation tools to create content-related visuals.
- Edit AI-generated or sourced images to ensure they are accurate, age-appropriate, visually consistent, and suitable for printing.
- Create vector illustrations, logos, diagrams, maps, charts, icons, and educational graphics.
- Perform image retouching, background removal, colour correction, compositing,



and image manipulation in Adobe Photoshop.
- Design brochures, catalogues, flyers, posters, packaging, book covers, and business stationery when required.
- Prepare final print-ready artwork with correct page size, margins, bleeds, crop marks, image resolution, fonts, and CMYK colour profiles.
- Check files for missing fonts, low-resolution images, overset text, incorrect colours, alignment issues, and printing errors.
- Export press-ready PDFs using suitable PDF/X standards.
- Coordinate with editors, content developers, illustrators, printers, and production teams.
- Make corrections efficiently and manage multiple book projects within deadlines.
- Maintain design and brand consistency across all books and promotional materials.
