The Opportunity

Maribyrnong City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded Footscray Place Officer to join our Economic Development team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the experience of everyone who lives, works, visits and invests in Footscray.

As part of our Footscray Welcome Crew, you'll be a visible and approachable Council representative, building relationships with traders, businesses,



residents and visitors while helping deliver initiatives that make Footscray an even better place to be.

Key Responsibilities

Be a visible and approachable Council presence throughout the Footscray CBD.

Build trusted relationships with traders, businesses, residents, visitors and community organisations.

Provide local information, wayfinding and practical support.

Identify emerging issues and coordinate referrals to the appropriate Council teams.

Support festivals, events, pop-up trading and other place activation initiatives.

Encourage shopfront improvements and activation of vacant commercial spaces.

Work collaboratively with businesses, creatives, property owners and community partners to bring new ideas to life.
