JOB DESCRIPTION - SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Job Purpose

To manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial records, statutory compliance, timely reporting, banking activities, and support management in financial analysis and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial transactions.
- Maintain General Ledger, cash book, bank book, sales and purchase ledgers.
- Verify and process purchase invoices, sales invoices, expense bills and journal entries.
- Perform bank, customer, vendor and ledger reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and MIS reports.
- Ensure timely payment of vendors, statutory dues and other liabilities.
- Handle GST-related accounting, reconciliation and return-related data.




- Handle TDS calculation, deduction, reconciliation and return-related records.
- Ensure proper accounting of payroll, employee advances and reimbursements.
- Coordinate with auditors for statutory, tax and internal audits.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up with concerned departments.
- Prepare cash-flow and fund-position reports for management.
- Support budgeting, cost analysis and variance analysis.
- Review accounting entries and ensure compliance with company accounting policies.
- Coordinate with banks regarding payments, receipts, bank statements and other financial matters.
- Ensure timely closing of monthly books of accounts.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and take corrective action.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee-related information.
- Guide and supervise junior accounting staff
