Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SAP FICO + Vertex Consultant with 7 to 9 years of deep functional and integration experience. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules, with a specific focus on Vertex tax engine integration. You will bridge the gap between financial compliance and technical execution, ensuring flawless automated indirect tax calculation (Sales Tax, Consumer Use Tax, and VAT) across global entities.

Key Responsibilities

SAP FICO Core Configuration

Lead end-to-end design and configuration of SAP FI (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, and Bank Accounting).

Manage and deliver complex SAP CO requirements (Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, and Profitability Analysis).

Oversee financial month-end and year-end closing activities.

Vertex Integration & Tax Automation





Standardize and manage the integration architecture between SAP ECC/S4HANA and Vertex O Series or Vertex Cloud.

Configure Vertex SAP Interface Component (VSIC) and utilize the Vertex Accelerator tool for optimal data synchronization.

Build, map, and test standard and custom tax data exchanges between SAP modules (SD, MM, FI) and the Vertex engine.

Establish advanced tax rules within Vertex, utilizing Tax Assist Rules, Tax Policy Manager (TPM), and Tax Policy Determinations (TPD).

Cross-Functional Delivery & Support

Partner with the Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) functional teams to secure correct indirect tax determination on invoices and purchase documents.

Draft highly detailed Functional Specifications (FS) for custom ABAP programs, BADIs, user exits, and RICEF objects.

Execute basic ABAP debugging to perform root-cause analysis on failing interfaces and IDoc errors.

Run system testing (SIT/UAT), guide business users, and resolve hyper-care incidents under stri
