Role Overview

Motionmatics is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer to lead Linux platform development, BSP engineering, AI integration, and system optimization on custom high-performance hardware platforms. The role involves working closely with hardware, FPGA, and vision teams to build AI-enabled embedded systems for mission-critical imaging applications

Responsibilities

Lead BSP (Board Support Package) development for custom ARM-based platforms
Perform Linux board bring-up on new SoC / FPGA-based hardware
Develop and maintain custom kernel-space device drivers
Configure, customize, and optimize the Linux kernel
Develop embedded Linux distributions using Yocto / Buildroot
Configure and customize bootloaders (U-Boot or equivalent)
Integrate camera sensors and high-speed interfaces
Deploy and optimize object detection and AI inference pipelines
Perform hardware-software co-debugging and system validation
Optimize system performance, boot time, and resource utilization

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical,Electronics Engineering, Computer Science,



or a related field.
5–8 years of Embedded Linux development experience
Strong BSP and kernel-space device driver development
Deep understanding of Linux kernel architecture
Experience with Yocto/Buildroot and ARM-based SoCs
Proficient in C and multithreading (pthreads)
Solid debugging skills (GDB, JTAG, kernel logs, lab tools)
Experience with high-speed interfaces (USB, PCIe, MIPI, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART)
Comfortable with Linux user space and systemD services
Hands-on experience with Yocto (image building & recipe creation)
