Role Description This is a full-time, in office Zebrafish Lab Assistant role based in Navi Mumbai and intended for local candidates from Panvel/Thane Only.

The Lab

Assistant will support daily zebrafish husbandry activities, including feeding, monitoring health, cleaning tanks, and maintaining optimal environmental conditions.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, assisting with microinjections and basic experimental procedures, and ensuring proper labeling, storage, and handling of samples and reagents. The role involves following established quality control protocols, recording observations accurately, and maintaining detailed laboratory documentation.

The Lab





Assistant will collaborate with research staff, follow safety and ethical guidelines, and help keep the facility organized and compliant with institutional standards.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills, including basic lab techniques and safe handling of zebrafish and related materials.
- Candidates should possess experience with laboratory equipment, including operation, cleaning, and routine maintenance.
- Candidates should possess quality control skills to follow protocols, adhere to standards, and document procedures accurately.
- Candidates should possess analytical skills to observe, record, and interpret data and animal behavior with attention to detail.
- Candidates should possess effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and reporting findings clearly.
- Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biology, zoology, biotechnology, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures, maintain cleanliness in the lab, and comply with safety and ethical guidelines.
- Prior experience with aquatic animal facilities, zebrafish research, or preclinical laboratory work will be an advantage.
