Role & responsibilities :

- Manage and supervise a team of welders and welding technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Ensure all welding work meets industry standards and specifications; perform inspections and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Plan and coordinate welding projects, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgeting.
- Promote a culture of safety by enforcing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless workflow and communication.
- Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including inspections, certifications, and equipment maintenance.
- Develop and implement welding procedures and work instructions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of welding personnel and implement training programs to improve skills.
- Manage inventory levels of welding supplies and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and maintenance.
- Oversee the setup and calibration of welding equipment,



ensuring proper functionality and adherence to specifications.
- Address and resolve any technical issues related to welding processes or equipment in a timely manner.
- Prepare reports on welding production metrics, quality issues, and safety compliance for management review.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team involvement in process optimization initiatives.
- Ensure effective communication of project requirements and deadlines to the welding team.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., IWE) are a plus.

Technical Competencies:

- Proficient in various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.).
- Robust understanding of welding codes and standards (AWS, ASME).
- Familiarity with welding equipment and technology, including automated systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices and inspection techniques in welding.

Experience:

- 10+ experience Minimum of [X] years of experience in welding management or a similar.
