Role Description The VMC Operator is a full-time, in office position based in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad Area. The role involves operating and monitoring Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) to manufacture precision mechanical parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. Typical tasks include machine setup, loading and unloading workpieces, selecting and changing tools, and adjusting machining parameters to maintain quality and efficiency.

The operator inspects components using measuring instruments, records production data, and collaborates with the quality and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve processes. Routine maintenance of machines, adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean, organized work area are also key responsibilities.

Qualifications





- Ability to operate and set up Vertical Machining Centers, including tool selection, offset adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, mechanical sketches, and machining process documents.
- Experience using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision inspection tools.
- Knowledge of CNC machining practices, cutting parameters, and material properties relevant to precision manufacturing.
- Work with M code and G code to operate and program VMC machines.
- Make necessary modifications to CNC programs to improve machine performance or meet specific job requirements.
- Understanding of quality control procedures, documentation, and adherence to rigorous manufacturing standards.
- Commitment to workplace safety, 5S practices, and maintaining a clean and organized production environment.
- Prior experience as a VMC Operator or similar machining role in industrial manufacturing is preferred.
- Technical diploma, ITI, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Production, or related field is advantageous.
- Ability to work in shifts, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and meet production targets with consistent accuracy.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience operating Vertical Machining Centres in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have knowledge of Auto-CAD & Mastercam software.
