Role Description The Video Editor role at Bihar Live is a full-time, in office position based in Patna.

The Video

Editor will be responsible for editing news and feature videos, assembling raw footage, and creating compelling visual stories aligned with editorial guidelines. Daily tasks include trimming clips, adding transitions and graphics, synchronizing audio, applying basic sound adjustments, and performing color corrections to enhance visual quality. The role also involves collaborating with reporters, producers, and graphic designers to plan video concepts, adapt content for multiple platforms, and meet publishing deadlines.

Editor will help optimize videos for online distribution, ensuring all content adheres to brand standards and technical specifications.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Video Editing and Video Production skills for assembling, refining, and delivering high-quality video content.
- Candidates should possess Video Color Grading skills to ensure consistent, visually appealing footage across different types of content.
- Candidates should possess Motion Graphics and Graphics skills to create titles, lower thirds, infographics, and other visual elements that enhance storytelling.
- Candidates should have familiarity with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and basic audio editing tools.
- Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, strong storytelling ability, and the capacity to work under tight deadlines in a newsroom environment.
- Candidates should have good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to take feedback and adapt to evolving editorial needs.
- Candidates with prior experience in digital media, news, or social media video formats, and a relevant diploma or degree in media, film, or a related field will be considered an advantage.
