Role OverviewWe are looking for a highly experienced and aggressive sales leader to take on the role of Vertical/Category Head for our Bauli product portfolio. This is a critical leadership position responsible for spearheading the entire sales drive, market penetration, and category growth for Bauli across West Bengal.

The ideal candidate will have deep, grassroots-level knowledge of the West Bengal FMCG landscape, having previously operated as an ASM or Senior ASM across multiple districts and zones within the state. You will be the primary driver of revenue, distribution expansion, and market share for the Bauli brand.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Strategy & Execution

- Take complete ownership of the Bauli category's P&L;, driving both primary and secondary sales targets across West Bengal.
- Develop and execute aggressive sales strategies to increase market share and brand visibility for the Bauli product line (croissants, cakes, and other bakery items).
- Forecast category sales accurately and align with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure zero stock-outs and optimal inventory levels.

2. Distribution & Network Expansion

- Leverage your extensive experience across various West Bengal geographies to identify, appoint, and manage a robust network of super stockists, distributors, and sub-stockists.
- Drive numeric and weighted distribution, ensuring the Bauli portfolio reaches deep into both urban and rural/upcountry markets in WB.
- Restructure or optimize the existing channel partner network to ensure maximum ROI and market coverage.

3. Trade Marketing & Category Management





- Design and implement effective trade schemes, BTL (Below The Line) activities, and retailer display programs specifically tailored to the bakery/confectionery category.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and trade promotions, providing actionable market intelligence to the management team.
- Ensure optimal shelf-space allocation and visual merchandising for Bauli products at key retail outlets.

4. Team Leadership & Capability Building

- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team (ASMs, Sales Officers, and TSIs) dedicated to the Bauli vertical.
- Conduct regular field visits across all WB zones to guide the team, resolve on-ground channel conflicts, and build relationships with key trade partners.
- Set clear KPIs, track daily/weekly performance, and drive a culture of accountability and target achievement.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience: Minimum 17+ years of core FMCG sales experience, with a mandatory background in the Food, Bakery, or Confectionery space.
- Geographical Expertise: Must have proven experience working as an Senior ASM or RSM across multiple, diverse locations within East India (e.g., North Bengal, South Bengal, Kolkata, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, North East etc.). Deep understanding of the local WB trade dynamics is non-negotiable.

- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong distributor network and relationships across West Bengal.
- Proven track record of launching or scaling a category/vertical in the region.
- Aggressive sales approach with exceptional negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
- Solid analytical skills to track data, ROI, and category performance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; an MBA in Marketing or Sales is highly preferred.
