Missions/Main Duties

- Policy and Guideline Development: Review existing Railway policies, manuals, and guidelines for developing and implementing transportation plans and strategies to improve efficiency, reduce congestion, and enhance sustainability of transportation systems. Draft/Update railway policies, manuals, and guidelines, as well as transport planning methodologies and manuals.
- Transport Planning & Assessment: Conduct transport planning work, including model split assessment and parking Equivalent Car Space (ECS) calculation related to Masterplan assessment, Station development plans, and ancillary facilities associated with station development.
- Modeling & Simulation: Perform transport modeling, traffic simulation, and traffic data assessment related to Railway stations/Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) projects.
- Design Review: Review Station Master Plans,



concept/tender stage drawings/GFC stage drawings, architecture/transport planning-related drawings, and masterplan drawings in terms of transport planning.
- Research & Development: Undertake R&D; works for station redevelopment related to transport planning or any other R&D; work as assigned by the client.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Possess knowledge of guidelines related to railways/station development such as MSSR, NBC, MOHUA, UTTIPEC, relevant IS codes, and Indian/State/Local Body laws related to transport planning.

Profile/Skills

- Hands-on knowledge of planning tools like MS Project & VISSIM, CUBE, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and other relevant 3D software used for transport modeling.
