Role & responsibilities

Transport Operations Management

- Plan, organize, and oversee daily school transport operations.
- Ensure timely arrival and departure of all school buses.
- Monitor bus routes and optimize transportation schedules.
- Coordinate transportation arrangements for school events, excursions, and special activities.

Fleet Management
- Maintain records of all school vehicles, including registrations, permits, insurance, and fitness certificates.
- Ensure regular servicing, maintenance, and cleanliness of buses and other transport vehicles.
- Coordinate with vendors and service centers for repairs and maintenance.

Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with government transport regulations and school safety policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of buses for safety standards.
- Verify validity of drivers' licenses, permits, and other statutory documents.
- Implement and monitor student safety protocols during transportation.

Staff Supervision
- Supervise and manage drivers, bus attendants, and transport support staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and route allocations.
- Conduct regular meetings and training sessions on safety and discipline.
- Monitor staff attendance, performance, and conduct.





Parent & Student Coordination
- Address transport-related queries and concerns from parents.
- Maintain accurate records of student transport users.
- Communicate route changes, delays, or emergencies to parents and school authorities.

Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain transport records, fuel consumption logs, maintenance schedules, and incident reports.
- Prepare monthly reports on transport operations and expenses.
- Monitor transportation budgets and control operational costs.

Required Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Additional certification in Transport Management or Logistics is preferred.
- Knowledge of school transportation regulations and safety norms.

Experience
- 35 years of experience in transport, fleet management, logistics, or school transportation operations.
- Experience in managing drivers, routes, and vehicle maintenance.

Preferred candidate profile

- Experience in a school workplace will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong focus on student safety and operational excellence.
