TECHNICAL LEAD - FULL-STACK & PRODUCT ENGINEERING

Work model: Flexible schedule; core overlap 11:00 AM-4:00 PM IST THE MANDATE

AKS is building a permanent technical core of engineers who own client and product outcomes from unclear requirement to stable production. You will take full ownership of backend, data, deployment and operational reliability, while also delivering React/Next.js interfaces in collaboration with a designer. You will coordinate directly with the CTO, work closely with the applied-AI/LLM lead and, where appropriate, guide interns or junior engineers while retaining accountability for the final result.

The portfolio includes applications such as voice/calling automation, accounts-receivable workflows, data-processing tools and customer dashboards. Several systems will already be in UAT, hypercare or maintenance. This role therefore values safe takeover, diagnosis, release discipline and client communication as much as greenfield development.

WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE DIFFERENT

AI coding agents and approved engineering subscriptions are provided and encouraged. You remain accountable for architecture, correctness, security, tests and every accepted change. You must inspect, understand and defend agent-generated code; passing an inadequate test suite is not proof of correctness.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

- Clarify business requirements, define acceptance criteria and convert ambiguous client needs into a protected delivery plan.
- Own backend services, APIs, data flows and PostgreSQL schemas using Python/FastAPI and/or Node.js, with working capability across both ecosystems.
- Build and maintain React/Next.js applications, coordinating visual implementation and states with the designer.
- Own Linux, Docker, CI/CD and deployment workflows across cloud and client-controlled on-premise servers, including environments with GPU/LLM dependencies.
- Diagnose production incidents across source files, ingestion, queues, APIs, database, cache and UI; communicate containment, fix, validation and prevention.
- Design safe file/data updates with validation, transactions, idempotency, auditability, authorization, backups and rollback.
- Build reliable integrations such as telephony/webhooks, WhatsApp, SFTP, background jobs and enterprise APIs with bounded retry and reconciliation behaviour.
- Implement authentication, authorization, tenant isolation, secrets management, secure logging and client-data controls.
- Create practical testing, release, observability, health-check and recovery workflows; keep runbooks and deployment records current.
- Maintain professional Git/GitHub practices: branches, reviewable commits, pull requests,



code review, repository completeness and knowledge transfer.
- Own maintenance, bug fixes and minor client changes without treating existing systems as lower-value work.
- Guide interns or junior engineers informally when assigned, reviewing their work before it enters shared or production systems.

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES

- 4-8 years of relevant software-engineering experience, including personally owned production systems.
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, React and Next.js capability.
- Strong capability in at least one of Python/FastAPI or Node.js, with working familiarity in the other.
- Strong PostgreSQL foundations: schema design, constraints, transactions, migrations, indexing, query diagnosis and data integrity.
- Strong Linux, Docker, Git/GitHub, testing, REST API and debugging skills.
- Hands-on CI/CD and production deployment experience across cloud and Linux-based on-premise client environments.
- Ability to operate applications that integrate with GPU-hosted or LLM services, even when model development is owned by another engineer.
- Experience with logging, metrics, health checks, incident resolution, backups, rollback and production change control.
- Practical security judgment around authentication, authorization, secrets, file uploads, tenant isolation, dependencies and audit logs.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including concise client-facing status and early escalation of blockers.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical discipline.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

- Moderate understanding of LLM/ML applications, RAG, model APIs and the application concerns around latency, cost, streaming and failure handling.
- Telephony, WebSocket, SFTP, WhatsApp or other enterprise integrations; durable queues, retries and dead-letter/reconciliation patterns.
- Redis, object storage, background workers, SQLAlchemy/Alembic, reverse proxies, TLS and infrastructure-as-code.
- Kubernetes or more advanced platform engineering; GPU-hosted application environments.
- Multi-tenant dashboards, batch/data-ingestion workflows and high-volume records or traffic.
- Informal technical leadership, code review and guidance of interns/junior engineers.

SUCCESS IN THE FIRST 90 DAYS

- Run assigned applications locally and in staging; document their frontend, backend, data, external-service and deployment dependencies.
- Validate or repair build, deployment, backup and rollback procedures and resolve one representative production/maintenance issue safely.
- Become primary maintenance owner for at least three systems and establish a visible,



risk-ranked incident and maintenance backlog.
- Ship one material reliability, auditability or deployment improvement with tests and evidence.
- Demonstrate safe PostgreSQL migrations and data-update practices and coordinate one change spanning frontend, backend and an LLM integration.
- By day 90, independently own the release and maintenance cycle for 4-5 applications and deliver one written client-acceptance or stabilization milestone .

WORK MODEL AND SUPPORT EXPECTATIONS

- Permanent, full-time and remote-first within India. Attendance at the Gurugram office or client meetings may be required with reasonable notice.
- Eight working hours on each scheduled workday, excluding breaks. The normal reference window is 9:30 AM-6:30 PM IST with a one-hour meal break; start/end times may flex while preserving mandatory availability from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM IST.
- Regular Monday-Friday schedule plus two pre-notified working Saturdays per calendar month. The Saturday schedule is communicated before the month begins.
- Routine overnight support is not expected. Exceptional production incidents may occasionally require availability outside normal hours, handled under company policy and applicable requirements.
- Client travel is currently infrequent and primarily within NCR. Approved business travel outside NCR is reimbursed; other required travel arrangements are confirmed in advance.

COMPENSATION AND SUPPORT

- Annual fixed gross salary: INR 15,00,000-18,00,000.
- Performance-linked variable pay: up to INR 2,00,000 per annum, assessed and payable quarterly against written, measurable outcomes. Variable pay is not guaranteed and may be prorated for eligible service.
- Company-funded access to approved coding agents and role-relevant engineering subscriptions.
- Approved learning resources or certifications may be company-funded where relevant to delivery.
- A company laptop/workstation may be provided based on role and information-security requirements.
- Paid leave, holidays and statutory benefits in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
