Role Description

We're looking for an Art Director who can lead from the front - strong enough on ideation to set the creative bar, and confident enough in front of clients to defend it. This isn't a purely hands-on design role or a purely managerial one; you'll be doing both, often in the same day, across static, motion, and video.

You'll lead our Art team, working closely with Copy and Video to bring campaigns to life across digital, offline, and motion formats. Our main client is a national brand that moves fast and expects quick turnarounds, so this role needs someone who thrives on pace without letting quality slip.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Kochi, with one in-person team meetup required each week.

What you'll own

- Leading ideation across campaigns, from concept to final execution
- Driving quality and consistency across digital, offline, and motion/video creative, applying an AI + traditional approach to motion graphics and video, from AI-assisted generation to hands-on editing and finishing
- Managing, assigning, and tracking work across the Art team, keeping output on time and on brief
- Client-facing presentations and creative walkthroughs,

- Solving creative problems on the fly, especially under quick-turnaround client demands
- Bringing AI tools into the creative process - prompting, generating, and refining across multiple tools, and knowing when to blend that with traditional design craft
- Managing external vendors and freelancers where needed, from production houses to specialist designers
- Staying on top of design trends, new tools, and emerging formats, and bringing that thinking into the team's work

What we're looking for

- 5+ years of experience as an Art Director or in a senior design role, ideally in an agency setting
- Robust ideation skills with a solid portfolio spanning digital, offline, and motion/video work (portfolio required with application)
- Strong grounding in typography, layout, and brand systems, not just individual creative pieces
- Working knowledge of motion graphics and video, with comfort using both AI tools and traditional editing/animation software
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and Figma
- Hands-on experience with AI design and generation tools, comfortable prompting and refining across multiple platforms
- Ability to balance traditional design fundamentals with new-age AI-driven workflows
- Proven experience leading a team - assigning work, tracking progress, and giving direction that sticks
- Confident client-facing presence, able to present and defend creative decisions in the room
- Calm under pressure, with experience handling fast-turnaround, high-stakes client demands
- Degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred
