Role Description:

Role : Sustainability Engineer – Full Time

Location : Anna Nagar, Chennai

Salary Range : Rs. 20 - 25k (take-home)

Experience : 6M-1Year

This full-time, on-site Sustainability Engineer role is based in Chennai.

The Sustainability

Engineer will support and lead green building design projects, including energy modeling, daylight analysis, and assessment of building envelope performance.

Responsibilities include preparing sustainability reports, assisting with certification documentation (such as LEED, IGBC, and GEM), and coordinating with architects, civil engineers, and MEP teams to integrate sustainable strategies into design. The role involves reviewing construction drawings for compliance with sustainability targets, conducting material and technology research,



and recommending low-cost, eco-friendly design solutions.

The Sustainability

Engineer will also participate in client meetings, present technical findings, and contribute to continuous improvement of internal methodologies and tools.

Qualifications

- Graduate in Civil Engineering/ Environmental/Energy or any sustainability-related course.
- Strong foundation in building engineering principles and familiarity with green building concepts and rating systems (e.g., LEED, IGBC, GEM).
- Proficiency in building performance analysis tools (such as energy modeling or simulation software) and comfort with basic CAD/BIM platforms used in building design.
- Ability to conduct technical research on sustainable materials, energy-efficient technologies, and water and waste management solutions, and translate findings into practical design recommendations.
- Competence in preparing clear technical documentation, sustainability reports, and certification submissions, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with clients and consultants, and present technical information in a concise manner.
- Demonstrated interest in sustainability, climate-resilient design, and eco-friendly construction practices; prior experience on green building or high-performance building projects is preferred.
- Ability to work in office in Chennai, manage multiple project tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving standards and guidelines in sustainable design.
