Role Description This is a full-time, in office Structural Engineer role based in Hyderabad.
The Structural
Engineer will perform structural analysis and calculations for components and systems used in additive manufacturing and construction applications. Daily responsibilities include developing and reviewing structural designs, preparing and updating CAD models and drawings, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and safety standards. The role involves collaborating with design, engineering, and prototyping teams to validate concepts, support testing,
and optimize structures for performance and manufacturability. The engineer will also participate in design reviews, prepare technical documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement of tools, methods, and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Structural Analysis & Design
- Lead structural analysis and design of conventional and non-conventional structures, including 3D printed concrete systems, shells, bunkers, culverts, and protective structures.
- Perform linear and non-linear analysis, static, dynamic, and impact/blast load simulations.
- Develop design methodologies for anisotropic and layered materials typical of additive manufacturing
2. FEM and Advanced Simulation
- Conduct detailed finite element modelling using ABAQUS, ANSYS, or equivalent FEM tools.
- Perform blast, impact, and shock wave simulations, including pressure–time histories and damage assessment.
- Model material non-linearity, cracking, plasticity, strain-rate effects, and failure mechanisms.
- Validate numerical models using experimental data, field observations, and test results
3. 3D Concrete Printing (3DCP) Integration
- Collaborate with material science and printing teams to evaluate printability, buildability, and structural performance.
- Analyze inter-layer bonding, print-induced anisotropy, and geometric effects on structural behaviour.
- Support design-for-additive-manufacturing principles for concrete printing.
4. R&D; and Technical Leadership
- Lead and contribute to R&D; projects involving defense, infrastructure, and advanced construction technologies.
- Prepare technical reports, design notes, simulation documentation, and approval submissions.
- Support proof-of-concept trials, field demonstrations, and pilot projects
Qualifications
- - Candidates should possess strong Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering skills, with a solid understanding of materials, load paths, and relevant design codes.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Structural Analysis and performing detailed engineering Calculations for static and dynamic loads.
- Candidates should possess experience in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating and modifying structural drawings and 3D models.
- Relevant skills such as familiarity with construction practices, additive manufacturing concepts, and standards applicable to innovative building systems are beneficial.
- Master’s degree (M. Tech) or higher in Structural Engineering, or a closely related field; 2 years of prior experience in structural design or construction projects.
- Ability to work on-site in Hyderabad or across India, collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical information clearly, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
