Faridabad
We are looking for a Store Manager to take complete ownership of all our warehouses and stores in Faridabad, raw material, consumables, packaging, finished goods, e-commerce inventory, moulds and tooling and IT / General Items Inventory etc.
Our inventory is wide rather than deep: 1,000+ live SKUs created by the phone-model design material matrix, with new models added every month and old models going obsolete just as fast. So this is not only a receiving-and-issuing job. The person we want will own stock accuracy, bin and rack discipline, dispatch turnaround, dead-stock control and audit readiness across every location, and will run the store on system and data, not on memory.
This is a hands-on, floor-facing role with single-point accountability. You will manage a team, work directly with Production, Purchase, Quality, Sales/E-commerce, Accounts and IT.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Multi-Warehouse & Storage Management:
- Own day-to-day operations of all Faridabad warehouses/stores; define what is stored where and keep each locations role clear (raw material, packaging, finished goods, returns, quarantine, scrap).
- Design and maintain a bin and rack location system every rack, shelf and bin numbered (e.g. A-01-03-B), physically labelled, and mapped to the SKU in the system so any item can be located without asking anyone.
- Maintain demarcated and labelled zones: inward/staging, under-QC (hold), approved stock, WIP issue counter, packing, dispatch-ready, sales returns, rejected/scrap.
- Drive 5S and housekeeping as a routine discipline, with a documented audit checklist and score for each warehouse.
- Enforce FIFO / FEFO movement for granules, adhesives, inks, printed film, batteries and any shelf-life or batch-sensitive item. (Note: LIFO should not be used it is not permitted for inventory valuation in India and it works against you on ageing stock.)
- Plan storage layout and space utilisation: fast-movers near the dispatch face, slow-movers in the deep racks, heavy material at floor level; review the layout as the SKU mix changes.
- Maintain custody and issue records for moulds, dies, jigs, fixtures and tooling location, condition, shot/usage count, last maintenance, and which items are lying with outside job-workers.
- Ensure correct storage of TPU/silicone/PC granules, masterbatch, inks, solvents, thinners, adhesives and cleaning chemicals sealed, off-floor, dry, away from heat, and segregated as per safety norms.
B. Inventory Control across 1,000+ SKUs
- Own the SKU master and naming convention (model / material / design / colour / packaging variant). No item enters the store without a system SKU code; eliminate duplicate and dead codes.
- Run ABCXYZ classification and apply differentiated control: A-items counted most often and controlled tightest, C-items managed in bulk bins.
- Define and maintain minimum stock, re-order level, re-order quantity and safety stock for every active SKU; raise indents before a shortage, not after production stops.
- Publish a cycle-count calendar daily counts for A-items, weekly/monthly for B and C so 100% of SKUs are physically verified over a defined cycle, plus a full physical stock-take at half-year and year-end.
- Investigate every variance: find the root cause (wrong issue, wrong bin, unbooked scrap, short receipt, pilferage), correct it in the system with approval, and record the reason. No unexplained adjustments.
- Track ageing (030 / 3160 / 6190 / 90+ / 180+ days), flag SKUs tied to discontinued phone models, and publish a monthly non-moving and dead-stock list with value for liquidation,
bundling or write-off.
- Track and report scrap, rejection, damage, sprue/runner and rework material, and control its accounting and disposal.
C. Inward, Quality Coordination & Vendor Returns
- Handle inward receipt and verification of raw material, consumables, packaging, bought-out parts and capital items; supervise unloading, count, weigh and inspect against documents.
- Perform a 3-way match PO vs invoice vs actual receipt on rate, quantity, specification and batch before closing the GRN; escalate mismatches to Purchase before booking.
- Create MRN/GRN, RMA and internal receipt entries in ERP on the same day as physical receipt, with batch/lot number and rack location captured.
- Coordinate with Quality for inward inspection; hold material in quarantine until cleared never issue uninspected material to production.
- Process rejected material and supplier returns with correct GST documentation (debit note / credit note / return invoice); follow up on replacement and credit until closed.
- Issue Returnable, Non-Returnable and Job-Work challans; maintain a live pending job-work register and track GST return timelines (1 year for inputs, 3 years for capital goods), escalating ageing job-work stock monthly with Accounts sign-off on GST filings.
- Coordinate with transporters for loading/unloading, check for transit damage, and record shortage/damage claims immediately on receipt.
D. Outward, Dispatch & E-commerce Fulfilment
- Own material issue to production against an approved requisition/BOM no issue without a document, no back-dated issues.
- Manage finished-goods receipt from production: quantity confirmation, packing, labelling, barcoding and rack-wise storage.
- Run pick-pack-dispatch for B2B and e-commerce/marketplace orders (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, D2C) within committed SLA cut-offs, with correct labelling, invoicing and e-way bill.
- Handle marketplace/customer returns (RTO/RVP) receive, scan, grade (sellable / repackable / damaged), restock or scrap, and close the claim with the channel team.
- Reconcile courier/3PL manifests and stock held at marketplace or 3PL warehouses against company books every month.
- Plan dispatch manpower and packing-material availability ahead of peak season and sale events so festive volume does not break SLA.
E. Inter-Warehouse Transfers, Documentation & Compliance
- Control stock transfers between warehouses with proper delivery challans and e-way bills; book transfers the same day so no stock sits "in transit" on paper.
- Maintain complete, retrievable filing and traceability POs, GRNs, challans, gate passes, invoices, e-way bills, asset logs and stock-adjustment approvals.
- Operate a strict gate-pass and material-out control; nothing leaves any warehouse without an authorised document.
- Support statutory, internal, customer and ISO audits with stock records, valuation data and physical verification; close audit observations within the agreed timeline.
- Prepare the monthly stock statement and major-materials reconciliation before the 5th of every month; maintain the ongoing stock ledger for major materials.
F. Systems, ERP & MIS Reporting
- Act as store owner in the ERP/WMS every physical movement is matched by a same-day system transaction; physical and system stock must reconcile at all times.
- Drive barcode/QR-based receipt, put-away, picking and stock-taking; where scanning is not yet implemented, help design and roll it out.
- Use advanced MS Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation etc.) for reconciliation and analysis not as the master stock record.
- Publish daily, weekly and monthly MIS: stock position, inventory value, consumption vs plan, shortage/stock-out list, pending job work, ageing and dead stock, dispatch/SLA performance, rejection and scrap, cycle-count accuracy.
- Report any material, asset or documentation mismatch the same day, in writing, without waiting for month-end.
- Propose and implement process improvements and controls (formats, SOPs, system changes) that reduce manual effort and error.
G. Team & Manpower Management
- Lead, roster and supervise store executives, assistants, pickers, packers and contract loaders across all locations.
- Allocate daily work, set targets, monitor attendance and productivity, and balance manpower between warehouses as load shifts.
- Train the team on SOPs, ERP entry, bin discipline, material handling and safety; build a backup for every critical activity.
- Write, maintain and enforce SOPs and work instructions for every store process.
H. Safety, Security & Asset Custody
- Ensure secure material handling, correct stacking heights, aisle clearance, and proper use of PPE, trolleys, pallet trucks and ladders.
- Maintain fire-safety readiness — extinguishers accessible and in date, exits and fire lanes never blocked, flammables stored per norms.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree, industrial diploma or equivalent; a qualification in supply chain, materials or logistics is an advantage.
- 7–12 years in stores, warehouse, inventory or dispatch, including at least 3 years supervising a team.
- Proven experience managing 1,000+ SKUs across more than one storage location.
- Hands-on ERP/inventory software experience (SAP, Tally Prime, Busy, Zoho Inventory, Unicommerce, Odoo or similar) — entry, reports and reconciliation.
- Strong MS Excel — pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation of large data sets.
- Practical command of bin/rack systems, FIFO/FEFO, cycle counting, ABC analysis, and min-max/re-order planning.
- Working understanding of GST documentation as it applies to GRN, purchase returns, job work, delivery challans, stock transfer and e-way bills.
- Comfortable on the floor — physical verification, supervising unloading, working through peak dispatch days.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership, and discipline to keep records clean under pressure.
- Good communication and coordination across Production, Purchase, Quality, Sales/E-commerce, Accounts, IT and vendors.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Faridabad/NCR, able to move between units as needed.
- Working proficiency in Hindi and English both
Preferred:
- Experience in mobile accessories, phone cases, injection moulding, printing/sublimation or packaging manufacturing.
- Experience with e-commerce/marketplace fulfilment — Amazon FBA/Easy Ship, Flipkart, Unicommerce/EasyEcom — and returns processing.
- Experience implementing barcode/QR scanning or a WMS in a store that previously ran on paper.
- Exposure to ISO 9001, 5S, Kaizen or lean practices in a manufacturing store.
- Familiarity with forklift/pallet-truck operation and material handling equipment, with basic safety certification.
