– PRODUCTION MANAGER

Position: Production Manager

Department: Production / Manufacturing

Reporting To: General Manager / Plant Head / Managing Director

1. Job Purpose To plan, manage, and control the complete production activities to ensure on-time delivery, required quality, optimum productivity, cost control, and efficient utilization of manpower and materials.

2. Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Control

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer requirements and project priorities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the planned schedule.
- Monitor production progress and take corrective action for delays.
- Coordinate with Design, SCM, Stores, QC/QA, SMT and other departments.

Manpower Management

- Plan manpower requirements according to production workload.
- Allocate operators, technicians and engineers to different production activities.
- Monitor employee attendance, discipline, productivity and performance.
- Identify training requirements and improve employee skill levels.

Electronics Manufacturing

- Supervise PCB assembly, electronic assembly, soldering, wiring, testing and integration activities.
- Ensure production is carried out according to approved drawings, BOMs, work instructions and customer specifications.
- Ensure proper handling and traceability of components and PCBs.
- Monitor SMT, THT, hand soldering, PCB cleaning, inspection and testing processes.

Quality Control

- Work closely with QC/QA to reduce rejection, rework and customer complaints.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards and company procedures.
- Identify recurring production defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.




- Maintain proper production and quality records.

Material & Resource Management

- Coordinate with Stores and SCM for timely availability of components, PCBs and other production materials.
- Minimize material wastage, rejection and production losses.
- Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of production equipment and tools.

Productivity & Cost Control

- Monitor production efficiency and manpower productivity.
- Reduce downtime, rework, rejection and unnecessary production costs.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and process improvement.

Customer & Project Support

- Coordinate with project/design teams for new product introduction and engineering changes.
- Support urgent customer requirements and priority production schedules.
- Ensure production commitments are met as per customer/project timelines.

3. Daily Monitoring The Production Manager should review:

- Production target vs. actual
- Manpower availability
- Machine/equipment availability
- Material availability
- Rejection and rework
- Pending testing/inspection
- Production downtime
- Delivery status
- Customer/project priorities
- Safety and discipline

4. Required Qualifications

Education:

- Diploma / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, ECE, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience:

- Typically, 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing/EMS production.




- Experience in PCB Assembly, SMT, Soldering, Testing and Electronic product assembly is preferred.

7. Authority & Accountability The Production Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the production department, including production output, manpower utilization, productivity, process adherence, quality coordination, equipment utilization and timely completion of production schedules.

Important: The Production Manager should not only be responsible for achieving production quantity. The role should also be accountable for quality, delivery, productivity, safety, cost and employee discipline.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
