We are seeking an experienced Network Architect / Senior Network Engineer to analyze, redesign, and modernize our enterprise network infrastructure across multiple clinic locations. The successful candidate will evaluate the current flat IP addressing scheme, design a scalable and secure segmented network architecture, and develop an implementation roadmap that improves security, operational visibility, troubleshooting, and site-level management.
This role requires a hands-on engineer with robust Cisco networking expertise who can independently assess existing environments, develop network architecture standards, and execute network transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Network Assessment & Architecture
- Analyze the existing network topology, IP addressing structure, routing, switching, and security architecture.
- Evaluate the current flat IP schema and identify risks, limitations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Design a scalable, secure, and standardized network architecture across multiple clinic locations.
- Create a network segmentation strategy using VLANs, subnets, routing policies, and security controls.
- Develop a site-specific IP addressing framework with dedicated IP ranges for each clinic or office location.
- Produce network diagrams,
architecture documentation, and technical design specifications.
Network Segmentation & Security
- Design and implement logical network segmentation to improve:
- Security
- Compliance
- Device isolation
- Traffic management
- User and device visibility
- Define inter-VLAN routing and access control policies.
- Recommend best practices for network access control, firewall integration, and secure communications.
- Ensure network designs support future growth and acquisitions.
DHCP, DNS & IP Management
- Redesign and optimize DHCP scopes and IP allocation strategies.
- Update network services impacted by the new IP schema including:
- DHCP
- DNS
- VLAN configurations
- Routing tables
- Network monitoring systems
- Develop migration plans that minimize user and application downtime.
Implementation & Project Delivery
- Develop a phased implementation plan and migration strategy.
- Coordinate network changes with IT infrastructure, security, systems, and operations teams.
- Lead network deployment activities including testing, validation, cutover, and post-implementation support.
- Create rollback procedures and risk mitigation plans.
- Verify network performance and stability following implementation.
Operational Support
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for network-related issues.
- Support Cisco-based network infrastructure including switches, routers, wireless systems, and firewalls.
- Establish network standards, monitoring practices, and operational documentation.
- Mentor junior network engineers and provide technical guidance when needed.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of enterprise networking experience.
- 3+ years designing and implementing network architecture solutions.

- Experience leading infrastructure implementation projects.
- Ability to create detailed migration and implementation plans.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco CCNP Enterprise or CCIE certification.
- Experience with healthcare environments, clinics, or HIPAA-regulated networks.
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, Meraki, and Cisco Firepower solutions.
- Knowledge of SD-WAN architectures.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
- Experience with cloud networking (Azure and/or AWS).
Key Deliverables The selected consultant/engineer will be expected to deliver:
1. Current-State Network Assessment Report
2. Future-State Network Architecture Design
3. Segmentation and VLAN Strategy
4. Site-Specific IP Addressing Plan
5. DHCP/DNS Configuration Recommendations
6. Security and Network Access Design
7. Migration and Cutover Plan
8. Risk Assessment and Rollback Strategy
9. Updated Network Documentation and Diagrams
10. Post-Implementation Validation Report
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for an analytical, project-oriented network professional who can architect solutions and drive implementation from assessment through deployment.
