Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator responsible for installing, configuring, administering, monitoring, securing, and optimizing SQL Server database environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in SQL Server administration, database performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, patching, upgrades, migrations, and Windows Failover Clustering.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances (SQL Server 2019/2022/2025).

Perform SQL Server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and database migrations with minimal downtime.

Plan and implement database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies based on business continuity and application availability requirements.

Monitor database health, performance, storage utilization, and proactively resolve issues.

Perform performance tuning through query optimization, execution plan analysis, index defragmentation, index rebuilding/reorganization, and updating index statistics.

Configure, administer, and monitor High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions including:

Always On Availability Groups

Distributed Availability Groups

Log Shipping

SQL Server Replication

Configure and manage Windows Failover Clustering (WSFC) for SQL Server environments.

Schedule, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server Agent Jobs and Maintenance Plans.

Monitor SQL Server logs, Windows Event Logs, and database alerts to ensure system stability.

Troubleshoot database performance issues, blocking, deadlocks, and long-running queries.

Implement database security, user access management,



permissions, encryption, and auditing as per organizational standards.

Work closely with application, infrastructure, and development teams to support production and non-production environments.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, operational runbooks, and disaster recovery procedures.

Required Technical Skills

Strong administration experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019/2022/2025.

Expertise in SQL Server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations.

Strong knowledge of SQL Server Backup & Recovery strategies.

Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, Execution Plan Analysis, Index Maintenance, and Statistics Management.

Hands-on experience with:

Always On Availability Groups

Distributed Availability Groups

Log Shipping

SQL Server Replication

Experience configuring and managing Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC).

Experience in scheduling and troubleshooting SQL Server Agent Jobs and Maintenance Plans.

Solid understanding of SQL Server security, authentication, roles, permissions, and encryption.

Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting production SQL Server environments.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Relevant Microsoft SQL Server certifications are preferred.
