As a Software Engineering Intern, you will join Visa’s 2027 Summer Internship Program and gain real-world experience working with one of the world’s most recognized technology brands. This is a 10 to 12 week internship designed for students who want to solve meaningful problems, learn fast and build with impact.

What You Will Do?

- Contribute to all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, deployment and support.
- Build and improve software solutions using modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability and secure development.
- Translate customer and business problems into effective technical solutions with a robust focus on usability, reliability and scalability.
- Learn and apply best practices in software engineering, UI/UX design and AI-enhanced development workflows.
- Experiment with emerging technologies, including AI-powered engineering tools, cloud-native platforms and distributed systems concepts.

Qualifications

Core Requirements

- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Java, GoLang, JavaScript or HTML.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles, data structures, algorithms and software design concepts.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
- Knowledge of user interface design for web-based applications.
- Ability to understand customer problems,



think from a user perspective and convert business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud-native application development concepts and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Exposure to AI-powered engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cline or similar coding assistants.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation and agentic AI concepts.
- Good communication skills and a strong desire to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

- General understanding of database systems, including relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
- Basic knowledge of AI/ML concepts and techniques.
- Familiarity with language models, context management and prompt engineering.
- Exposure to generative AI tools and coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Aider or Cline.
