About Spinor

Spinor is building a hyperlocal online-ordering and fulfillment platform consisting of a customer-facing ordering website and a vendor/kitchen operations application. Customers can browse menus and offers, place orders and track their status, while vendor teams can receive live orders, update preparation status, manage pickup and dispatch, and monitor fulfillment timing.

About the Internship

We are looking for a motivated Software Developer Intern to work with our core team on the Spinor vendor application and online-ordering platform.

This is a hands-on development role. You will contribute to production features, solve real operational problems, fix bugs and help improve the reliability and usability of our applications. You will work closely with the founders, product team and operations team to understand business requirements and convert them into working software.

The internship will initially be for three months. High-performing interns may be offered a full-time software developer position, based on performance, ownership, technical ability, team fit and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and improve features in the Spinor vendor application and customer ordering website.
- Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile devices.
- Work on features such as: Vendor and customer authentication, Menu and product management, Product availability and stock status and many more...
- Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and third-party services.
- Work with authentication, OTP, payment-gateway and push-notification integrations.
- Identify, reproduce and resolve application bugs.
- Improve application performance, reliability and security.
- Write clean, reusable and maintainable code.
- Test features before they are released to production.
- Use Git for version control and participate in code reviews.
- Maintain basic technical documentation for developed features and APIs.
- Coordinate with the operations team to understand real vendor and customer problems.
- Assist with staging, production deployment and post-release monitoring.

Applicants are not expected to know every technology listed above. Strong knowledge of at least one frontend, mobile or backend technology, together with the ability to learn quickly, is more important.

Required Skills

- Good understanding of programming fundamentals.
- Understanding of APIs, JSON and asynchronous programming.
- Basic knowledge of databases and data modelling.
- Familiarity with Git and version-control workflows.
- Ability to debug problems independently.
- Ability to write readable and structured code.
- Valuable analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to take ownership of assigned work and complete it within agreed timelines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Final-year student, recent graduate or postgraduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, BCA, MCA, BE, BTech or a related field.
- Candidates from other educational backgrounds may also apply if they have a strong project portfolio.
- Previous internship, freelance or personal-project experience in web or mobile development.
- Experience building and deploying at least one complete application.
- GitHub profile, portfolio website or working project demonstrations.
- Familiarity with e-commerce, food ordering, POS, logistics or order-management applications.
- Experience with payment gateways, OTP authentication, Firebase notifications or real-time applications.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX and responsive design.
- Basic knowledge of application security and performance optimisation.

Successful candidates may receive an offer to join Spinor as a full-time software developer. Conversion is performance-based and is not guaranteed.
