Job Responsibilities :

- Purpose of the Role - To ensure safe and reliable plant operations, manage the emergencies and incidents at site during quiet hours by coordinating with concerned plants and support departments adhering to all the organizational, regulatory requirements

- Functional Planning and Strategy -

- Provide inputs in creation of site's long term and short-term business strategy.

- Co-ordinate with plants for implementing targeted business plans

- Safe & Reliable Operations -

- As a central contact person common for all the functions for the Site, in consultation of the Site Apex team coordinate with various functions within the site and intra site for the safe and reliable operations of the various Manufacturing plants and support services.

- During silent hours, oversee and coordinate with relevant stake holders for the safe operations and maintenance activities of the various plants and functions and ensure the quality and safety standards are met with zero incidents.

- Conduct plant rounds to monitor specific operating activities are running as per overall safety, security, quality, regulatory & legal requirements.

- Monitor inter-plant movement of raw materials, intermediates and products to ensure protected and onspec operation of the various plants

- Maintain the facilities available at the Emergency response centre to ensure that they are updated, intact and are in good condition

- Coordinate with concerned Plants and support services for effective troubleshooting during process abnormalities, upsets,



shutdowns, or throughput reduction.

- Coordinate with various service functions like CAD, Security, Material Stores, IT, CES etc based on the required support for sustaining safe and reliable operation of the site.

- Appraise Site President, Operation Chief in the event of shutdowns or throughput reduction.

- Emergency & Incident Management -

- Oversee the dry drills of various plants in silent hours. Manage and report the high risk jobs being undertaken at site

- Participate in Mock drills (Level 1/2/3) as incident controller to improve the overall functioning of the integrated emergency management plan.

- Handle the responsibilities as Incident Controller as per the Site Emergency response plan.

- Drive interventions to control harm to employees, minimize damage to installation and impact to environment in line with emergency response procedure during natural calamities and on-site emergency incidents

- Co-ordinate with external and internal agencies in line with off-site emergency management plan

- Policies, Processes and Procedures -

Prepare and share regular site shift management reports and appraise Site President and Chief Of Operations regarding the status of emergency on regular basis

- Participate in audit of critical job preparation & execution and recommend actions for improvement

- Implement approved policies, processes, procedures and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out as per the relevant procedures

- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of policies,



processes and procedures taking into account leading practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement

- Monitor activities especially during the silent hours to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures

- Drive the plants to ensure compliance to specific consumption norms.

- People Management -

- Participate in the people development process by way of sharing learnings and coaching through interactions with the Front line employees and contractor staff.

Education Requirement :

- Necessary
- Bachelors degree in Engineering/ Technology (Chemical, Mechanical, Instrumentation)

Experience Requirement :

- Necessary
- 12+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years experience working as Production Manager in continuous chemical hazard Plant

- Desired:

- Fundamental understanding of various unit operations

- Basic Principles of operation of various equipment and systems e.g. pumps, compressors, electrical systems, DCS, PLC, etc

- Understanding of various HSEF, Regulatory practices and requirements
