Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Civil Maintenance Engineer to oversee the civil maintenance, repair, renovation and infrastructure-related activities across college campuses and institutional facilities.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that buildings, classrooms, laboratories, hostels, roads, drainage systems, sanitation facilities and other civil infrastructure are properly maintained and kept in safe and functional condition.

Key ResponsibilitiesCivil Maintenance & Infrastructure

- Manage day-to-day civil maintenance activities across college campuses.
- Inspect buildings, classrooms, laboratories, hostels, staff quarters, administrative blocks and other facilities.
- Identify civil defects, structural issues, seepage, cracks, leakage, plaster damage, flooring issues and other maintenance requirements.
- Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Supervise repair, renovation, painting, waterproofing, flooring, masonry, plumbing-related civil works and other infrastructure activities.
- Ensure timely completion of maintenance works with minimum disruption to academic activities.

Project & Contractor Management

- Coordinate with civil contractors, vendors and service providers.
- Prepare work requirements, estimates, BOQs and material requirements for maintenance and renovation works.
- Obtain quotations and support vendor/contractor evaluation.
- Monitor contractor performance, quality of work and timelines.
- Verify completed works and contractor bills before submission for approval.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved specifications and quality standards.

Campus & Building Maintenance

- Monitor the condition of college buildings and institutional infrastructure.
- Coordinate maintenance of:




- Classrooms and laboratories
- Hostels
- Administrative buildings
- Staff quarters
- Roads and pathways
- Drainage and sewage systems
- Toilets and sanitation facilities
- Compound walls and gates
- Roofs and terraces
- Parking areas
- Water tanks and related civil structures
- Conduct regular campus inspections and prepare maintenance reports.

Safety & Compliance

- Ensure civil structures and facilities are maintained in safe and usable condition.
- Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective measures.
- Coordinate building inspection and structural assessment activities where required.
- Maintain records of maintenance, repairs and civil works.
- Support statutory inspections, approvals and compliance-related requirements concerning buildings and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with relevant government/local authorities when required.

Planning & Budgeting

- Prepare annual and periodic civil maintenance plans.
- Estimate maintenance and renovation costs.
- Monitor maintenance budgets and control unnecessary expenditure.
- Maintain records of materials, work orders, contractor quotations and completed works.
- Recommend cost-effective maintenance and infrastructure solutions to Management.

Coordination with College Departments

- Coordinate closely with the Principal, Administration, Hostel, Security, Housekeeping, Electrical/MEP and other departments.
- Attend and resolve civil maintenance complaints raised by faculty, staff and students.
- Prioritize urgent maintenance requirements affecting safety or academic operations.




- Provide regular updates to Management on ongoing and completed works.

Eligibility

- B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution is mandatory.
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in civil maintenance, facility management, construction or institutional infrastructure is preferred.
- Experience in college, university, school, hospital, hotel, commercial building or large campus maintenance will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction, repair and maintenance practices.
- Experience in contractor and vendor management.
- Knowledge of BOQ, estimation, billing and material management.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office is preferred.
- Ability to independently manage multiple maintenance activities and contractors.
