Role & responsibilities
- Administer and support SharePoint Subscription Edition (SPSE) on-premises environments.
- Manage and maintain SharePoint farms, web applications, service applications, and site collections.
- Provide L2/L3 production support, including incident, problem, and change management through ITSM tools.
- Perform SharePoint installations, upgrades, Windows Server patching, and SharePoint Cumulative Updates (CUs).
- Plan and execute weekend and after-hours deployments, patching, and maintenance activities as required.
- Monitor SharePoint health, performance, logs, capacity, and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Manage and support backup, restore, disaster recovery (DR), and high-availability (HA) environments.
- Configure and maintain security, authentication, Entra ID integration, and SharePoint permissions.
- Troubleshoot and support custom SharePoint solutions, workflows, and third-party add-ons.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, SQL, network, security, and other technical teams to resolve complex issues.
- Enforce SharePoint governance, operational standards, security practices, and administration best practices.
- Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, patching plans, knowledge articles, and operational documentation.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement and optimization of SharePoint environments.
Preferred candidate profile
- 6-9 years of experience in SharePoint administration,
with a strong focus on SharePoint on-premises environments.
- Hands-on experience administering SharePoint Subscription Edition (SPSE), SharePoint 2019, or SharePoint 2016.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint farm architecture, web applications, service applications, site collections, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in PowerShell for SharePoint administration, automation, and operational tasks.
- Good operational knowledge of Windows Server, IIS, and SQL Server in SharePoint environments.
- Hands-on experience with Windows OS patching and SharePoint Cumulative Update (CU) management.
- Experience with L2/L3 production support and ITSM processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
- Practical knowledge of SharePoint backup/restore, DR, and HA concepts and implementations.
- Experience with authentication, Entra ID, security, and SharePoint permissions.
- Exposure to troubleshooting custom solutions, workflows, and third-party SharePoint components.
- Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex production issues.
- Good communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with cross-functional infrastructure, database, network, and security teams.
- Willingness to participate in weekend/after-hours maintenance, patching, and deployment activities based on business requirements.
