Key Responsibilities
• Lead structural design and analysis for bridges (RCC/PSC/steel/composite), buildings (RCC/steel-framed, high-rise/low-rise), and underground structures (tunnels, basements, retaining structures, metro/utility structures).
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, including structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable Indian codes (IS 456, IS 800, IS 1893, IS 13920, IRC codes for bridges, IS 4995, etc.) and international codes (AASHTO, Eurocodes, BS, ACI, AISC, or others as per project geography).
- Perform structural modeling and analysis using industry-standard software (STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, MIDAS Civil, Tekla, RAM, or equivalent).
- Carry out load assessments — dead, live, seismic, wind, dynamic, and construction-stage loading — and design for constructability, durability, and code compliance.
- Review and validate geotechnical inputs for foundation and underground structure design (piling, diaphragm walls, shoring, tunneling interfaces).
- Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of structural engineers and draftsmen — ensure quality control, and support technical development of junior staff.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP, geotechnical, and construction teams to ensure integrated, buildable designs.
- Liaise with clients, statutory authorities, and third-party checkers/proof consultants; respond to design queries and audits.
- Prepare technical reports, design basis reports, and calculation packages for internal and regulatory review.
- Support tendering, feasibility studies,
and value engineering exercises.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality/safety standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's/master's degree incivil/Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 8–15 years of structural design experience, with demonstrated work across bridges, buildings, AND underground structures (not limited to one sector).
- Strong working knowledge of Indian design codes (IS, IRC, IRS as applicable) and international codes (AASHTO LRFD, Eurocode, BS, ACI/AISC, or Middle East/Southeast Asia equivalents, depending on target markets).
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software: STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, MIDAS Civil/GTS, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD/Revit.
- Sound understanding of geotechnical-structural interaction for foundations, retaining systems, and underground works.
- Prior experience leading or mentoring a small team (2–6 engineers), including quality review and technical guidance.
- Excellent report-writing, documentation, and client-facing communication skills.
- Chartered Engineer / PE / member of a recognized professional body (IStructE, ICE, ASCE, Institution of Engineers India) is a robust plus.
Preferred Attributes
• Exposure to international projects (Middle East, Southeast Asia, UK, or similar) alongside Indian projects.
- Experience with BIM workflows and coordination (Revit/Navisworks).
- Familiarity with proof-checking/third-party review processes.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to constructability and cost-efficiency.
