Senior Performance Engineer / Performance Test Lead

Role Summary

We are hiring a Senior Performance Testing and Performance Engineering professional to lead performance testing efforts for a major Java platform upgrade in a retail/e-commerce environment. This is a hands-on engineering role, not an execution-only testing position — the ideal candidate builds workload models, investigates root causes of performance issues, and drives fixes independently, working closely with application and infrastructure teams.

What You'll Do

- Design, execute, and analyze performance tests using JMeter and LoadRunner across application layers
- Build workload models based on production traffic patterns and business scenarios
- Use Dynatrace (distributed tracing, SLOs, Davis AI, anomaly detection) to monitor performance and drive root cause analysis
- Investigate and troubleshoot Java performance issues, including analysis relevant to the ongoing Java version upgrade
- Identify response-time bottlenecks and correlate Dynatrace findings with application and infrastructure behavior
- Tune application and server parameters, and recommend fixes based on findings
- Partner with development and infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues end-to-end
- Present explicit,



technically sound RCA and recommendations to technical and management stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

- 8–12 years of overall experience, with strong hands-on work in both Performance Testing and Performance Engineering
- Expert-level, practical experience with Dynatrace: distributed tracing, SLOs, Workflows, anomaly detection, and Davis AI
- Proven experience with JMeter and LoadRunner in production-scale testing
- Strong Java performance analysis and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated experience in workload modelling and root cause analysis for real performance issues (not just tool exposure)
- Ability to explain, in depth, specific bottlenecks you've identified, the RCA process you followed, and the fixes you recommended

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in Retail or E-Commerce environments
- Exposure to AI-assisted performance analysis, automation, or tool integrations

Work Location & Schedule

- Onsite in Bangalore, 4 days/week minimum, increasing to 5 days/week during active testing cycles
- Peak testing period is mid-August through mid-November; near-daily onsite presence should be expected during this window

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
