Job Summary
The role focuses on optimization testing efficiency, quality management, welding standards compliance, site QA/QC, specialized testing, and commissioning support for DG sets and auxiliaries.
Responsibilities
- Optimization Testing Efficiency: Streamline assembly processes to minimize the need for repetitive Engine and Diesel Generator (DG) testing &
- Prepare Engine &
- DG documentation.
Process Audits: Conduct regular, stringent audits across Assembly, Testing, and Dispatch sections to ensure compliance with internal quality standards.
- Analytical Quality Management Rework Analysis: Utilize 7 QC tools (e.g., Pareto Charts, Ishikawa diagrams) to analyze assembly rejections and rework trends.
CAPA Management: Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for internal failures and complaints, initiating Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring issues.
Documentation: Maintain exhaustive quality records, ensuring all technical documentation is audit-ready and aligns with the Quality Assurance Plan.
- Welding &
- Technical Standards Compliance WPS/PQR Development: Develop Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) for specific project requirements.
Code Compliance: Ensure all fabrication and welding activities adhere to international codes, including ASME (Sec II, III, V, VIII) and AWS (D1.1 &
- D1.5).
Welder Qualification: Oversee the qualification and evaluation of welders for heavy structures and piping.
- Site Inspection &
- Project Execution (Suitable to work on site) In office QA/QC: Monitor site progress against project schedules, performing inspections on heavy structures, piping, and equipment fabrication.
Specialized Testing: Witness and certify Hydrotesting of DG piping, NDT inspections (Non-Destructive Testing), and painting/coating inspections.
Commissioning Support: Oversee the Erection and Commissioning of DG sets and auxiliaries, including conducting Type Tests, Routine Tests, and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT). Specific skills testing as per IEEE 387, Awareness on ASME Section IX &
- NDT certifications. 1.Magnetic Particle Testing (Level II) 2.Penetration Test (Level II) 3.Radiography Test (Level II) 4.Ultrasonic Testing (Level II) Familiar with Codes like ASME sec II, III, V, VIII, AWS D1.1 &
- D1.5 for Welding, Welder Qualification, Inspection requirements &
- Evaluation and testing methods. Knowledge of 7 QC tools
