About the Role
Responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems and components to meet project requirements. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve engineering challenges, conducting analysis to ensure performance and safety, and contributing to the continuous improvement of product designs and processes. The engineer will also support manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting efforts to ensure product reliability and efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver Hardware projects from start to finish.
- Take part in brainstorming recent product ideas and improvements, from concept to development.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D designs and technical drawings for prototypes and production using SolidWorks.
- Keep design files organised and managed through SolidWorks PDM.
- Help create and update product Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Assist in setting up part numbers for components and sub-assemblies using Arena software.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to manage prototyping and supply chains.
- Help the Purchasing team by finding suppliers, negotiating prices, and placing orders.
- Contribute to the design of new products and improve existing ones as part of the R&D; team.
- Ensure high-quality standards by performing regular quality checks during design and production.
- Keep a daily log of tasks, timelines, and progress for management when needed.
- Take responsibility for your work and adopt a problem-solving mindset.
- Offer support and training to colleagues through mentoring.
- Follow and promote workplace health and safety rules.
- Build strong teamwork by collaborating and working toward shared goals.
- Maintain confidentiality around sensitive company information.

Qualification
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required. Advanced knowledge of Solidworks software (Surface and Plastic)
