Role Description: This role is focused on contemporary Windows platform engineering and enterprise infrastructure delivery across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The successful candidate will bring an automation-first apusingveraging Infrastructure as Code, DevOps practices, AI-assisted engineering tools, and observability frameworks to support scalable, secure, and reliable Windows infrastructure platforms. The role requires deep expertise in Windows Server technologies, infrastructure automation, cloud integration, physical and virtual infrastructure, enterprise identity services, and end-to-end service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, deploy and support Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025 environments across physical servers, VMware, Proxmox, AWS, Azure, GCP and hybrid infrastructure platforms.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of Windows Server platforms, including provisioning, installation, configuration, domain integration, access validation, patching, hardening, upgrades, compliance management, decommissioning, and operational handover.
- Drive an automation-first approach across Windows infrastructure operations, eliminating manual processes and improving consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in proof-of-concepts (POCs), solution evaluations, architecture reviews, and technical design discussions for infrastructure initiatives and requirements.
- Provide senior technical ownership for complex Windows platform issues involving operating system behavior, application hosting, infrastructure integration, performance and service availability.
- Administer and support core Microsoft infrastructure technologies including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Group Policy, LDAP, Windows Failover Clustering, Certificate Services and related platform services.
- Support physical server build activities including hardware validation, iLO/iDRAC access coordination, firmware/BIOS checks, disk visibility, OS readiness and data center handoff validation.
- Configure, validate and troubleshoot RAID layouts and storage presentation for Windows server deployments, including RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 10 and non-standard disk configurations as required by the platform design.
- Troubleshoot hardware and platform issues related to physical servers, storage controllers, disk failures, boot issues, network connectivity, remote management access and post-build validation failures.
- Administer and support enterprise identity platforms including Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, SSO, MFA, federation, and access governance controls.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Ansible,
Python and Terraform to reduce manual intervention and improve consistency across Windows infrastructure operations.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot and similar platforms to accelerate scripting, automation development, troubleshooting, and infrastructure delivery.
- Build reusable automation modules, scripts, playbooks and templates for server provisioning, configuration management, software deployment, patch validation, compliance checks and operational workflows.
- Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, Bitbucket, and enterprise automation toolchains.
- Support enterprise DevOps practices including source control governance, automated testing, release management, infrastructure validation, and continuous improvement of deployment workflows.
- Implement and improve monitoring and observability across Windows platforms using enterprise monitoring tools, dashboards, alerting, event correlation and log analytics.
- Support ELK Stack based log ingestion, search, dashboarding and analysis for Windows events, application logs, infrastructure telemetry and operational troubleshooting.
- Drive vulnerability remediation, endpoint security policy implementation, patch compliance, system hardening and access control validation across Windows server environments.
- Collaborate with cloud, network, security, application, data center, automation and operations teams to deliver stable, secure and scalable infrastructure outcomes.
- Participate in infrastructure project delivery activities including requirement review, feasibility analysis, design validation, implementation planning, risk management and transition to operations.
- Develop, maintain, and standardize SOPs, implementation runbooks, operational procedures, technical standards, and Confluence-based knowledge repositories to support enterprise service delivery and operational excellence.
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to improve reliability, reduce manual effort, improve compliance and increase operational efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and contribute to engineering standards, procedures and knowledge sharing across the service delivery function.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, Windows Server engineering, enterprise systems administration, service delivery or platform operations.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2025 administration, engineering, build and troubleshooting.
- Deep experience with Microsoft infrastructure services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Group Policy, LDAP, Windows Failover Clustering and Certificate Services.
- Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, with practical exposure to Ansible, Python and Terraform.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and accelerate automation adoption.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code, configuration management and automation standards for Windows infrastructure.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, log analytics, alerting, dashboarding and operational event correlation.
- Working knowledge of ELK Stack for log ingestion, search, dashboards and troubleshooting is required or strongly preferred based on project needs.
- Hands-on experience supporting physical server infrastructure, including server build validation, troubleshooting hardware, remote management interfaces and data center coordination.
- Knowledge of RAID concepts and practical experience validating or troubleshooting RAID configurations, storage presentation and disk-related build issues.
- Experience with VMware, Proxmox, AWS, Azure, enterprise data center platforms, physical servers, cloud instances, storage and networking dependencies.
- Strong troubleshooting capability across Windows operating systems, application hosting layers, infrastructure services, network, hardware issues and observability signals.
- Experience implementing endpoint security controls, patching, vulnerability remediation, access controls, compliance requirements and system hardening standards.
- Ability to collaborate with multi-functional partners, explain technical decisions clearly and support leadership-level visibility on delivery risks, progress and outcomes.
- BE/B.Tech/MCA or equivalent technical degree preferred.
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or equivalent Microsoft certification.
- AWS, Azure, VMware, or cloud platform certification.
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate or equivalent automation certification.
- Experience with SCOM, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack or similar monitoring and observability platforms.
- Experience with Bitbucket, Jenkins or similar DevOps toolchains.
- Familiarity with containerized workloads and orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, EKS and GKE.
