About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Driver Operations Platform team, responsible for building and scaling the systems that power the entire driver lifecycle—from acquisition and onboarding to communications and route fulfillment.

This team owns the platforms, APIs, and event-driven services that enable driver partners to join, onboard, receive targeted communications, and claim delivery opportunities in real time. You will work on highly scalable, distributed systems that directly impact driver engagement, operational efficiency, and marketplace performance.

As a Senior Engineer, you will take end-to-end ownership of critical services and features, collaborating closely with Product, Design, Operations, and Data Science teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Platform & Product Development

- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications and services supporting driver onboarding, registration, communications, and route-selling workflows.
- Build and maintain GraphQL APIs, backend services, and event-driven architectures powering driver operations.
- Develop features across web, mobile, and backend systems using modern cloud-native technologies.
- Own projects from technical design through implementation, rollout, monitoring, and ongoing optimization.

Driver Communications Platform
- Build and enhance multi-channel communication systems supporting SMS, push notifications, and email delivery.
- Develop rules engines, audience segmentation, cohorting, scheduling, and delivery orchestration capabilities.
- Ensure communication workflows are reliable, compliant, and prevent duplicate or unintended messaging.

Driver Onboarding & Applicant Tracking
- Build onboarding workflows including registration, authentication, eligibility verification,



consent management, and applicant tracking.
- Design systems that support future migration from third-party ATS platforms to in-house solutions.
- Create integrations and synchronization services that maintain accurate applicant lifecycle data.

Live Selling & Marketplace Operations
- Develop real-time workflows that consume live offer and market data to surface delivery opportunities to appropriate driver cohorts.
- Build event-driven systems that ensure notifications are sent only when routes are available and claimable.
- Optimize targeting, timing, and delivery mechanisms for marketplace efficiency.

Architecture & Engineering Excellence
- Contribute to architectural decisions for distributed, serverless, and event-driven systems.
- Design scalable solutions that support future growth and evolving business requirements.
- Implement reliability, observability, monitoring, and alerting best practices.
- Drive engineering improvements related to performance, security, compliance, and data quality.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor engineers and contribute to maintaining high engineering standards.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical planning sessions.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, Operations, Data Science, and Support teams.
- Break complex initiatives into measurable milestones and deliver iteratively.

Required Qualifications

- 5–8+ years of experience building and operating production-grade software systems.




- Strong experience designing and developing high-scale distributed applications.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS serverless technologies:
- AWS Lambda
- AppSync or GraphQL platforms
- DynamoDB
- EventBridge
- SQS
- Strong proficiency in:
- TypeScript
- Node.js
- GraphQL
- React
- Experience building event-driven architectures and handling at-least-once delivery patterns.
- Deep understanding of idempotency, message processing, and reliability engineering.
- Experience with DynamoDB single-table design.
- Strong knowledge of API integrations, webhooks, and third-party platform connectivity.
- Experience owning services throughout the entire production lifecycle.
- Ability to troubleshoot, monitor, and improve production systems.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in Agile product development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and onboarding platforms.
- Experience building recruiting, registration, or funnel-based workflow systems.
- Knowledge of experimentation and analytics platforms such as:
- Statsig
- Fivetran
- Redshift
- Databricks
- Experience with messaging consent management and compliance workflows.
- Familiarity with driver, logistics, marketplace, or gig-economy platforms.
- Experience optimizing onboarding funnels and conducting drop-off analysis.
- Exposure to mobile platforms including React Native.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar platforms.
