Role Overview The Senior Category Manager – Venue owns the end-to-end P/L of the venue category across India, including strategy, revenue, margins, venue partner relationships, and category NPS. This is direct reporting to the cofounder and most P/L impact function at the company.

Key Responsibilities

1. Category Strategy & Growth

- Own venue category P&L;, revenue targets, and margin improvement
- Define city-wise and destination-wise category strategy
- Keep a tight check on category attach rate
- Should be able to conduct root cause analysis of low attach rate and implement changes as required
- Identify supply gaps and onboard venues aligned to demand and AOV goals
- Build and maintain venue cataloging.

2. Commercials & Negotiations

- Lead commercial negotiations with venues
- Finalize commission structures, B2B rates, and commercial terms
- Renegotiate low-margin partnerships
- Drive consistent margin and contribution improvement

3. Venue Key Account Management

- Build and manage long-term strategic venue partnerships
- Act as escalation owner for pricing, contractual, and operational issues with Venue POC
- Ensure venue adherence to agreed commercials and service standards

Operational Alignment with Venues

- Ensure venue selection, pricing accuracy and venue availability as per the set SLA’s
- Ensure thorough market research about upcoming venues in a region
- Ensure that venue suggestion are sent to clients within the set SLAs
- Work with supply POCs to manage recce, negotiation and margins
- Reduce turnaround times for availability and quotation closures
- Define processes for the team to improve internal efficiency

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Sales to improve venue attach rate
- Collaborate with Planning team to ensure smooth execution of the event
- Liaison with Finance team on legal issues, commission defaults, payment terms, vendor agreements,etc
- Support the marketing team for enabling video shoots and fulfilment of similar requests pertaining to venues
- Work extensively with product and tech team for category standardization

7. Data, Reporting & Insights

- Create, track and maintain dashboards for category performance (revenue and margins)
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and venue performance
- Share actionable insights with leadership for category improvement

Required Skills & Experience :

Experience

- 7–10 years work experience
- Having spent 3-4 years in category management
- Strong experience in commercial negotiations
- Problem solving through first principles
- Strong analytical and logical skills
- Strong hold in Excel
