Role Overview :

BCE Global Tech is seeking a Senior Akamai CDN Platform Engineer to lead the architecture, performance optimization, and security governance of our enterprise-scale, global digital platforms.

In this role, you will own the end-to-end edge delivery strategy - from onboarding critical web applications and APIs onto Akamai to building infrastructure automation with Terraform and enforcing enterprise-grade edge security. If you excel at solving complex traffic management, caching, and edge security challenges at a global scale, this role provides the platform to drive technical leadership and architectural vision.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Edge Architecture &

- Onboarding :
- Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise Akamai CDN solutions supporting multi-region, high-traffic applications and APIs.
- Lead end-to-end web migrations, domain onboarding, traffic steering, and origin configuration onto the Akamai platform.
- Configure and optimize Akamai core products : Property Manager, Edge DNS, Global Traffic Management (GTM), Cloudlets, Akamai Ion, and Dynamic Site Accelerator (DSA).

2. Edge Security &

- Compliance :
- Implement, tune, and maintain Akamai web security suites, including Kona Site Defender (WAF), Bot Manager, API Security, and DDoS mitigations.
- Enforce strict SSL/TLS configurations, certificate lifecycles, and secure origin connectivity.

3. Performance &

- Reliability Engineering :
- Drive continuous performance tuning across caching behaviors, edge acceleration, origin shield configurations,



and payload optimization.
- Act as the lead escalation point for production incidents, complex edge troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA).

4. Automation &

- Infrastructure as Code :
- Automate CDN configuration lifecycles, property deployments, and DNS changes using Terraform, Akamai CLI/APIs, and custom scripts.
- Integrate edge deployment workflows into enterprise CI/CD pipelines.

5. Leadership &

- Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Collaborate closely with cloud, DevOps, application engineering, and cyber security teams to align CDN configurations with corporate standards.
- Provide technical mentorship, operational guidance, and architectural oversight to junior platform engineers.

Candidate Qualifications :

- Core Experience : 8 - 10 years of overall IT experience with 5 years of dedicated, hands-on experience on the Akamai CDN platform.
- Akamai Mastery : Advanced proficiency in Property Manager, Edge DNS, GTM, Cloudlets, Ion, DSA, Kona WAF, and Bot Manager.
- Networking &
- Protocols : In-depth knowledge of DNS routing, HTTP/2 &
- HTTP/3 protocols, SSL/TLS handshakes, caching mechanisms, and edge traffic engineering.
- Automation &
- Cloud : Hands-on experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) and Python/Shell scripting, alongside familiarity with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Observability : Experience using monitoring and logging platforms such as Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, or Grafana for edge analytics.

Preferred Certifications :

- Akamai Certified Professional / Akamai Delivery Qualified / Akamai Security Professional
- AWS / Azure Solutions Architect
- CCNA / CCNP Networking Certifications
