What You Will Own
GST, TDS & Direct Taxation
- Own GST end-to-end — GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns (GSTR-9/9C) — workings, review, and filing
- Own TDS — quarterly filings (24Q, 26Q), reconciliation, and deposit scheduling
- ITC reconciliation — ensure credit matches books; flag and resolve mismatches proactively
- Coordinate income tax matters with CA — provide data, review computations, respond to queries
- Manage advance tax planning and payment scheduling
- Periodically review HSN/SAC tagging accuracy on transactions entered by the Accounts Executive
Books Review & Finalization
- Review accounting books and ledgers on an ongoing basis — spot checks, not just month-end
- Own monthly books closure — all entries accurate, complete, and correctly classified before close
- Own annual books finalization — coordinate with CA for audit, sign-off, and statutory filing
- Review the Accounts Executive's entries for quality; flag and correct errors, not just note them
- Ensure accounting heads, narrations, and classifications are consistently correct across the books
Compliance Calendar & Statutory Governance
- Own and maintain the master compliance calendar — GST, TDS, Income Tax, ROC, PF, ESI, and all other applicable obligations
- Zero missed deadlines — you own the calendar, not just track it
- Coordinate ROC compliances — annual filings, DIR-3 KYC, board resolutions
- Maintain PF and ESI compliance in coordination with HR/Admin
Audit Management
- Own the statutory audit process — coordinate with CA, provide books, manage timelines and sign-offs
- Own the tax audit process — data preparation, coordination, and closure
- Maintain audit-readiness at all times — not a once-a-year scramble
- Ensure all documentation is organized, complete, and immediately accessible
Notices, SCNs & Compliance Risk
- Handle all Show Cause Notices — GST, Income Tax, Customs, any department
- Draft or review responses; coordinate with CA, tax consultant, and legal counsel as needed
- Maintain a live notice tracker — open items, deadlines, hearing dates, current status
- Proactively identify compliance risks before they become notices — not reactive, preventive
Banking Documentation, Debt Support & Treasury
- Prepare and maintain banking documentation — audited financials, CA certificates, account statements for bank requirements
- Support debt capital requirements — OD/CC applications, term loan submissions, NBFC proposals —
financial data, CMA preparation, ratio analysis, and projections
- If you've been involved in raising working capital loans, CC limits, or structured debt from banks or NBFCs,
you'll own this end-to-end with management
- Identify applicable government schemes and subsidies — MSME, startup incentives, PLI, R&D; benefits —
and bring actionable opportunities to management
Payroll Audit & Administrative Financial Governance
- Conduct payroll audit — validate salary structures, PF/ESI deductions, and payout accuracy
- Establish a structured monthly payroll review process before each payout cycle
- Review administrative expense claims for policy compliance
What Good Looks Like in This Role
- There is never a missed filing deadline — not because someone reminded you, but because you own the calendar
- When a GST notice arrives, documentation is ready and a response is drafted within days, not weeks
- Books are closed on time every month — management never has to ask where finalization stands
- The Accounts Executive's entries get better month on month because you review, correct, and train — not just accept
- IZI's compliance position is clean enough that a due diligence or bank audit is not a fire drill
You Should Apply If
- You have 3–8 years in taxation and compliance — and you've actually filed, not just prepared
- You've handled GST notices or audits independently — not handed them off to a consultant and waited
- You understand Tally books well enough to review and correct entries, not just read reports
- You've managed a CA relationship — coordinated, followed up, and held them to deadlines
- You're detail-oriented to a fault — a misposted entry or a missed deadline genuinely bothers you
Bonus If You Have
- Experience in debt capital documentation — CMA data, bank proposals, OD/CC submissions, NBFC applications
- Experience in manufacturing, trading, ecommerce, or import-heavy businesses
- Handled customs or import compliance documentation
- ROC and secretarial compliance exposure
- Experience identifying and applying for government schemes or MSME incentives
Non-Negotiables
- Deep practical GST knowledge — GSTR-1, 3B, 9, 9C, ITC reconciliation — you file, not just review
- TDS filing experience — 24Q, 26Q, quarterly returns
- Ability to review Tally books and catch errors — not just run reports
- Experience independently handling at least one GST audit or SCN
- In office in Bhopal, full-time
- • 3–8 years of relevant experience in taxation and statutory compliance
