Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) Consultant to provide Application Management Services (AMS) support for SAP landscapes. The consultant will be responsible for SAP ILM administration, data archiving, retention management, data privacy compliance, and L2/L3 production support. The role requires close collaboration with functional, technical, Basis, Security, and business teams to ensure compliant and efficient information lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

AMS Support

- Provide L2/L3 production support for SAP ILM solutions.
- Resolve incidents, service requests, and production issues within agreed SLA timelines.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement permanent solutions.
- Manage change requests, enhancements, and production deployments.
- Monitor SAP ILM jobs, archiving processes, and retention policies.
- Support audit and compliance activities related to archived data and retention requirements.

SAP ILM Administration

- Configure and maintain SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM).
- Design and manage data retention and destruction policies.
- Configure retention rules and retention warehouse processes.
- Implement legal hold processes for regulatory compliance.
- Support SAP data archiving using Archive Development Kit (ADK).
- Monitor and troubleshoot archive jobs and storage management.
- Perform archive retrieval and restoration activities when required.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory data retention policies.

Data Archiving & Compliance

- Implement and support SAP data archiving strategies across business modules.
- Configure archive objects and archiving variants.




- Support information retention and data destruction processes.
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Audit teams during regulatory reviews.
- Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR and local statutory requirements where relevant).

Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM).
- Experience with:

- Knowledge of SAP Content Server and ArchiveLink.
- Experience working with SAP HANA and SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Understanding of SAP authorization concepts related to ILM.
- Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager and transport management.
- Basic knowledge of SAP Basis administration and system monitoring.

Integration Knowledge

Experience supporting SAP ILM across modules such as:

- SAP FI
- SAP CO
- SAP MM
- SAP SD
- SAP PP
- SAP HCM
- SAP CRM (where applicable)

Required Skills

- 5–8 years of SAP consulting experience with relevant SAP ILM exposure.
- Strong experience in SAP ILM implementation or AMS support.
- Hands-on experience with SAP data archiving and retention management.
- Experience supporting enterprise SAP production environments.
- Valuable understanding of compliance, audit, and data governance requirements.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration projects involving data archiving.
- SAP ILM or SAP Basis certification (preferred).
- Knowledge of SAP Information Governance and data privacy best practices.
- Exposure to ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
- Experience working in global AMS delivery environments.
