Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP HANA Infrastructure Lead to own, manage, and optimize the SAP HANA database infrastructure within a SAP Business One on HANA environment. This is not a functional consultant or ABAP/Fiori developer role. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience managing SAP HANA on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), performing HANA maintenance, leading performance troubleshooting, and driving infrastructure stability.

This is a fully remote role based in India. The candidate must be able to work independently, engage with multiple technical stakeholders, and take end-to-end ownership of the SAP HANA infrastructure layer. Immediate joining is required.

Key ResponsibilitiesSAP HANA Database Administration

- Install, configure, patch, and upgrade SAP HANA 2.0 systems including SPS and revision updates.
- Perform daily HANA database administration: tenant management, backups, recovery, log management, storage and memory management.
- Manage HANA System Replication for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Plan and execute database refreshes, copies, and system migrations.
- Implement and maintain SAP HANA security: users, roles, privileges, encryption, and audit policies.
- Monitor database health, workload patterns, and capacity utilization.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Administration
- Administer and maintain SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications.
- Apply OS patches, kernel updates, and SAP-specific tuning recommendations.
- Configure filesystems, storage layout, networking, and security hardening for HANA systems.
- Manage SUSE cluster (Pacemaker/Corosync) for HANA high availability.
- Troubleshoot Linux-level performance issues affecting SAP HANA operations.

SAP Business One on HANA Support
- Support SAP Business One on HANA installations, upgrades, and server-side components.
- Manage integration points including Service Layer, SLD, license services, and DI Server.
- Troubleshoot SAP Business One connectivity, data access,



and performance issues related to the HANA database.
- Collaborate with functional and business teams to ensure smooth day-to-day SAP Business One operations.

Performance Tuning &
- Troubleshooting

- Lead end-to-end performance analysis and troubleshooting of SAP HANA systems.
- Analyze expensive SQL statements, execution plans, memory/CPU/disk bottlenecks, locks, and replication lag.
- Use SAP HANA Cockpit, HANA Studio, traces, and OS-level diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues.
- Recommend and implement parameter tuning, workload management, partitioning, and indexing improvements.
- Drive root cause analysis for major incidents and implement permanent fixes.

Infrastructure Leadership &
- Governance

- Act as the technical lead for SAP HANA infrastructure initiatives and projects.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and operational documentation.
- Coordinate with storage, network, security, and cloud teams for HANA-related requirements.
- Ensure compliance with backup/recovery SLAs, RPO/RTO objectives, and audit/security standards.
- Provide Level 3 support and on-call escalation for critical production issues.
- Mentor junior infrastructure team members and promote best practices.

- Experience

- Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience in SAP HANA database administration and infrastructure management.
- Mandatory experience with SAP Business One on HANA.
- Strong expertise in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications.
- Proven experience in HANA installation, upgrades, SPS patching, and system refreshes.
- Deep knowledge of HANA architecture, multi-tenant databases, replication, and disaster recovery.
- Expert-level performance troubleshooting skills using HANA and OS-level diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of underlying infrastructure: storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud.
- Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or similar.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions.

Good to Have
- SAP HANA certification.
- SUSE Linux certification.
- Experience with SAP Business One version 10.x on HANA.
- Exposure to SAP HANA on public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- ITIL or similar operational process knowledge.

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Work Environment
- 100% remote role based in India.
- Must have a stable internet connection and home office setup.
- Willingness to provide on-call support during critical incidents or scheduled maintenance windows.
- Must be immediately available or able to join within a very short notice period.
