Role Description As a Robotics Engineer at METAPLANT™️, you will work on-site in Hyderabad in a full-time capacity, designing, developing, and implementing robotic systems that function in hazardous process plant environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate robotics with industrial software platforms. Daily responsibilities include developing and testing required electrical, mechanical systems, physical hardware, embedded firmware, communication protocols, control algorithms, programming and configuring robotic hardware, and troubleshooting system performance issues.
Responsibilities
- Design and prototype robot hardware/mechanical systems for industrial deployment
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware for sensors, motor control, and navigation
- Integrate cameras, LiDAR, IMU, or other sensors for autonomous/remote operation
- Build communication between robot hardware and the cloud/software backend
- Test and iterate hardware in both lab and field/plant environments
- Troubleshoot hardware–software integration issues
- Document hardware design and maintenance procedures
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Robotics, including robotic systems design, control, and integration.
- Experience with industrial control systems, and integration of robotics.
- Proficiency in Software Development, especially in languages and frameworks commonly used in robotics and automation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with robotics hardware design and embedded systems (ROS/ROS2)
- Proficiency in embedded programming (C/C++, Python)
- Sensor integration experience (cameras, LiDAR, IMU) and motor control
- Understanding of wireless communication protocols for robotics
- Mechanical/electrical prototyping skills
- Comfortable working in industrial/field environments
