Responsible for supervising and controlling riveting and glueing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery schedules are achieved. The role involves manpower management, process monitoring, quality control, productivity improvement, and coordination with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and SCM teams

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily riveting and glueing production activities as per production plan.

- Allocate manpower and workstations based on production requirements.

- Ensure proper riveting, glueing, curing, and assembly processes are followed.

- Monitor production output, cycle time, rejection, rework, and productivity.

- Ensure correct use of riveting machines, pneumatic tools, fixtures, jigs, and glue dispensing equipment.

- Verify correct adhesive type, quantity, mixing ratio, application method, and curing time as per work instructions.

- Ensure operators follow SOPs, Work Instructions, Control Plans, and process parameters.

- Monitor product quality and coordinate with the Quality Department for any defects or deviations.

- Identify and control common defects such as loose rivets, improper riveting, excess/insufficient adhesive, poor bonding, misalignment, and surface contamination.

- Maintain daily production records, rejection/rework reports, downtime, and manpower records.

- Ensure availability of raw materials, rivets, adhesives, consumables, tools, and fixtures.

- Coordinate with Maintenance for machine/tool breakdowns and preventive maintenance requirements.

- Conduct toolbox talks and provide on-the-job training to operators.

- Ensure proper PPE usage, housekeeping, 5S, and safety practices at the workplace.





- Implement Kaizen and continuous improvement activities to improve productivity and reduce rejection.

- Support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for production and quality issues.

- Monitor operator skill levels and support competency development.

- Coordinate with Planning, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, and SCM to meet production and delivery requirements.

- Ensure proper identification and traceability of materials and finished components.

- Participate in internal and customer audits when required.

- Perform any other production-related responsibilities assigned by management.

Qualification

- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.

- Technical certification in manufacturing/production processes will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 3–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

- Relevant experience in riveting, glueing/bonding, sheet-metal fabrication, assembly, or automotive/engineering component manufacturing.

- Previous supervisory experience with production operators is preferred.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of riveting and adhesive bonding processes.

- Knowledge of production planning and shop-floor management.

- Basic understanding of quality tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and CAPA.

- Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and safety practices.

- Good manpower handling and leadership skills.

- Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.

- Positive communication and problem-solving skills.

- Basic MS Office / production reporting knowledge.

- Ability to achieve production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.
