About Loopworm
Loopworm is at the forefront of biomanufacturing, harnessing the power of insects to create innovative, sustainable solutions. Its mission is to redefine how industries approach nutrition, health and wellness by maximising the value of insects across various applications. From developing sustainable, alternative animal feed to advancements in recombinant protein, Loopworm is committed to driving change across sectors.
The Dodaballapur plant processes silkworm pupae into LoopMeal, a high-protein ingredient, and LoopOil.
Purpose of the Role
Most aqua-input sales in this market happen through a chain of distributors and dealers, which means the farmer rarely hears directly from the company making the product, and the company rarely hears directly from the farmer either. Loopworm sells through both distributors and this direct channel this role adds a direct-to-pond layer alongside the existing distributor network, going straight to the pond with demonstrations, field trials, and a relationship the farmer can actually call when something isn't working.
As Regional Sales Manager, you would be one of the first two people building this model on the ground — which means real territory ownership, direct influence over how the go-to-market strategy evolves, and visible credit for what you build, rather than inheriting someone else's patch and playbook. It's a role suited to someone who already has standing in the local aqua-farming community and wants to build something around that relationship, not just service an existing account list.
Open Positions
Both positions cover coastal aquaculture belts with dense clusters of commercial fish and shrimp farms — high-density territories chosen specifically because they support the kind of frequent, in-person farmer contact this role depends on.
Position 1: Regional Sales Manager – Bhimavaram
- Location: Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh
- Territory: West Godavari District and Krishna District
- Key hubs: Bhimavaram, Gudivada, Machilipatnam, and surrounding aquaculture clusters
Position 2: Regional Sales Manager – Nellore
- Location: Nellore, Andhra Pradesh
- Territory: SPSR Nellore District and Prakasam District
- Key hubs: Nellore, Kavali, Ongole, Chirala, and surrounding coastal belts
What You'll Own Farmer Network & Relationship Building
- Build, nurture, and manage a high-impact direct farmer network across your region — this is a relationship-first role, not a transactional sales patch
- Identify and onboard progressive individual fish and shrimp farmers who are open to trying new inputs and can become reference customers for others nearby
Field Sales & Demonstrations
- Plan and run direct-to-farmer outreach — pond-side demonstrations, farmer meet-ups, and localized campaigns that show the product working in real conditions, not just on paper
- Coordinate in office field trials with farm owners alongside the technical team, ensuring trials are set up correctly and results are captured and communicated back to the farmer
- Execute localized promotional activity to drive farm-level product adoption, adapting the approach to what actually works in each cluster rather than running a one-size-fits-all campaign
Revenue & Collections
- Hit and exceed monthly/quarterly sales, revenue, and collection targets for your territory
- Manage direct billing and credit control — extending credit sensibly and following up before it becomes a collections problem
- Track field collections closely and escalate payment issues early rather than letting them accumulate
Feedback & Market Intelligence
- Capture farmer feedback systematically and route it back to the technical and product teams — this direct-to-farmer model only works if what's learned on the ground actually reaches the people building the product
- Keep a pulse on local competitor activity, pricing, and farmer sentiment, and flag shifts early
What We're Looking For
- Education: B.Sc. Fisheries/Aquaclure/BFSc/ MFSc/ M.Sc. Fisheries (mandatory) — this is a technical sale, and you need enough grounding in aquaculture science to hold a credible conversation with a farmer about yield and survival rates
- Experience: 4–5 years hands-on in Aqua Feed or a reputed Aqua Healthcare company, with direct field/service executive exposure — desk-based or purely distributor-facing sales experience won't translate well to this role
- Strong, existing grassroots connections with direct farmers in or near the target territory — this role moves faster with someone who already has some trust built, rather than starting cold
- A proven direct-to-farm sales track record,
ideally with evidence of having grown a farmer base rather than just serviced one
- Native proficiency in Telugu for genuine farmer-level conversations; working English for internal reporting
- High willingness for extensive local travel — this is a field role first; a valid two-wheeler license and a two-wheeler vehicle is preferred given the terrain and distances involved
Tools & Reporting
- Comfort with basic digital reporting tools (Excel/Google Sheets or a CRM/sales app) for tracking farmer visits, trial outcomes, and collections
- Reporting is a core part of the job, not an afterthought — clean, timely field data is what lets Loopworm's technical and product teams act on what's happening on the ground
Skills & Competencies
- Consultative, relationship-first selling — able to build trust over repeat visits rather than push a one-time transaction
- Technical credibility — comfortable discussing yield, feed conversion, and survival rates with a farmer in enough depth to be taken seriously
- Field trial coordination — working alongside the technical team to set up, monitor, and communicate results from on-farm trials
- Negotiation and credit judgement — extending and managing credit sensibly, and following up before it becomes a collections issue
- Local market awareness — reading competitor activity, pricing shifts, and farmer sentiment in real time
- Native proficiency in Telugu for genuine farmer-level conversations; working English for internal reporting
- Comfort with basic digital reporting tools (Excel/Google Sheets or a CRM/sales app) for tracking farmer visits, trial outcomes, and collections — reporting is core to this job, not an afterthought
- High willingness for extensive local travel — this is a field role first; a valid two-wheeler license is preferred given the terrain and distances involved
What’s in it for you
- Real financial security — PF, ESI/medical insurance, and other benefits as per company policy, so you're covered beyond just the paycheck
- Travel taken care of — company travel policy covers you, so field/site visits don't come out of your pocket
How We Work at Loopworm
- Freedom and responsibility — we tell you the outcome and the constraints, then get out of your way. No micromanagement. You own the result.
- Honesty over comfort — bad news should travel fast. We'd rather hear about a problem the day it happens than a polished story a month later.
- Numbers, not opinions — decisions are made on data; bring the arithmetic with your proposal
