Role Summary

You will join Arvind Limited’s Corporate IT function in Ahmedabad as a Backend Engineer focused on HR Strategy and Leadership workflows that support the CEO and senior stakeholders. You will own backend services, APIs, and data models that power internal HR and leadership processes, with a strong emphasis on reliability, clarity, and maintainability. You will work in an onsite setup and operate as an individual contributor who leads initiatives, defines technical standards, and drives execution across a small surface area with high business visibility. The role suits someone who can translate HR process needs into clean backend systems, review trade-offs, and keep the codebase and documentation in shape.

Key Responsibilities

- You will own backend service design and delivery for internal HR and leadership workflows, from API contracts through to database schema and production support.
- You will design and maintain REST APIs with clear request and response patterns, versioning rules, and predictable error handling.
- You will build and evolve relational data models in SQL-based databases to support reporting, workflow state, and auditability.
- You will define and apply backend engineering standards for branching, pull requests, code review, testing, and technical documentation.




- You will write and maintain unit and integration tests that protect core business logic and reduce regression risk.
- You will review system design choices for recent features and integrations, keeping performance, maintainability, and operational simplicity in view.
- You will partner with HR, leadership, and technology stakeholders to clarify requirements, challenge gaps, and convert process needs into implementable solutions.
- You will investigate production issues, trace defects across services and data layers, and drive fixes through to closure.
