QC In-Charge Quality Management & Audit Quality
Role Summary The QC In-Charge will be responsible for driving, coordinating and monitoring the Firm’s overall Quality Management and Audit Quality framework in accordance with the Firm’s QC Manual, applicable Standards on Auditing, ICAI requirements, Code of Ethics and other applicable professional and regulatory requirements.
The role will work closely with the Managing Partners, Quality/Managing Committee, Engagement Partners, EQCR/EQRs and audit teams to strengthen the Firm’s quality culture, identify and mitigate quality risks, monitor compliance and ensure timely remediation of deficiencies.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations
- Periodic review of the Firm’s QC/Quality Management framework and QC Manual.
- Develop and execute the annual QC monitoring and review plan based on identified quality risks.
- Monitor audit quality across statutory, listed, NFRA-applicable and other high-risk engagements.
- Review compliance with applicable Standards on Auditing, SQC 1, SQM 1/SQM 2 readiness, ICAI Code of Ethics and Firm policies including EQCR appointments and partner rotation.
- Oversee firm-wide independence, conflict of interest, client acceptance/continuance and non-assurance service monitoring.
- Maintain and monitor the Quality Risk Register, QC Observation Register and Remediation Tracker, ensuring timely and effective closure of identified deficiencies.
- Coordinate Peer Review,
AQMM and external/regulatory inspection readiness.
- Monitor implementation and effective use of AuditorsDesk and other audit documentation systems, including TMS versus AuditorsDesk monitoring.
- Issue QC alerts, guidance notes and coordinate quality and regulatory training based on identified gaps.
- Prepare periodic QC and Quality Management dashboards/reports for the Managing Partners/Quality Committee.
- Coordinate QC meetings, document decisions and monitor closure of action points.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of recurring deficiencies and recommend sustainable corrective actions.
The individual is expected to function as a quality champion and central coordinator for the Firm, with the ability to independently identify quality and regulatory risks, interact and discuss with engagement teams/Partners where appropriate, escalate significant matters and drive timely remediation. Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant with 10+ years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong experience in statutory audit or audit quality/review, preferably within a reputed CA firm.
- Strong understanding of Standards on Auditing, SQC 1, SQM 1/SQM 2 framework, ICAI Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Experience in dealing with listed entities, NFRA/high-risk engagements would be preferred.
- Robust analytical, documentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
