Key Responsibilities

1. Incoming / Inward Inspection

- Inspect incoming raw materials, bought-out components, and sub-assemblies as per drawings, specifications, and purchase requirements.

- Verify material dimensions, quantity, visual condition, and required certificates.

- Identify and segregate rejected or non-conforming materials.

- Maintain inward inspection records and coordinate with Purchase/Stores for supplier-related issues.

2. Line / In-Process Inspection

- Carry out regular inspection at different stages of production.

- Ensure components are manufactured as per approved drawings and specifications.

- Check critical dimensions using appropriate measuring instruments.

- Monitor process quality and immediately highlight deviations to Production.

- Ensure proper identification and segregation of OK, rework, and rejected components.

- Maintain in-process inspection records.

Final

Inspection

- Conduct final inspection of completed products before packing and dispatch.

- Verify dimensions, workmanship, assembly, appearance, and functional requirements as applicable.

- Ensure the finished product matches the customer drawing/specification and approved sample.

- Approve products for packing only after meeting all quality requirements.





- Maintain final inspection and clearance records.

4. Packing & Dispatch Quality

- Inspect products before and during packing to ensure they are properly protected against damage, corrosion, and contamination.

- Ensure correct quantity, product identification, labels, and packing method.

- Verify that the correct product is packed against the relevant PO/customer requirement.

- Ensure rejected or hold material is not accidentally packed or dispatched.

- Coordinate with Stores/Dispatch for final clearance.

5. Documentation & Records

- Maintain inward, in-process, final inspection, rejection, rework, and packing inspection records.

- Maintain calibration records for measuring instruments and ensure instruments are used within validity.

- Prepare quality reports and communicate recurring quality issues to management.

- Support documentation required for ISO 9001:2015 and QMS compliance.

6. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action

- Identify and document quality deviations and non-conforming products.

- Coordinate with Production to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

- Monitor rework and rejection trends.

- Follow up on corrective actions until closure.
