Role Summary:

Singh Erectors is seeking a veteran Mechanical Project Manager to lead a highly critical, rapid-track, multi-crore heavy mechanical package for a major Thermal Power Plant. This is fundamentally a heavy steel manufacturing and rigging project. The core scope requires establishing a high-capacity site fabrication yard to roll, weld (SAW), coat, and erect thousands of metric tons of custom large-diameter Cooling Water (CW) carbon steel piping (up to 3.5m ID x 20mm thick). The PM will have total site P&L; responsibility, driving the mechanical fabrication output while overseeing subcontracted civil trenching operations to ensure a continuous erection front.

Key Responsibilities:

- Heavy Mechanical Execution: Take total ownership of a high-volume site fabrication facility. Drive the daily physics of thick-plate rolling, automated Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), and heavy spool handling to meet rigid dispatch targets.
- Heavy Rigging & Erection: Plan and execute the safe trench-lowering and alignment of massive 12-meter pipe spools (weighing 20+ MT) and heavy free-issue equipment (Motorized Valves up to 3.5m diameter) using heavy crawler and EOT cranes.
- Stringent QA/QC Management: Ensure the mechanical execution strictly meets premier consultant (TCE/NTPC level) standards, managing 100% RT (Radiography) on longitudinal seams, UT, and high-pressure hydro-testing with zero rework loops.
- Subcontractor Synchronization: Direct the outsourced Civil/Earthwork subcontractor. Treat deep trenching and dewatering as a critical enabling path, ensuring the civil fronts never delay the mechanical pipe-laying schedule.
- Commercial & Cash Flow Control: Optimize working capital by maximizing billing velocity,



minimizing NDT/repair delays, and strictly enforcing the mechanical site execution budget.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory).
- Experience: 15+ years in heavy industrial EPC, with at least 5 years serving as PM/RCM on large-scale heavy mechanical projects. (Must have experience in large-diameter cross-country water pipelines, penstocks, heavy structural steel, or refinery piping).
- Technical DNA: This role requires a leader with a deep understanding of heavy plate fabrication, welding metallurgy (ASME Sec IX), and heavy crane lifting plans. Candidates with purely Civil or general building MEP backgrounds will not be considered.
- Pedigree: Previous experience working under stringent premier consultant norms (TCE, NTPC, EIL, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
