Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Title: Project Manager (Civil Projects & Substation Works)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager specializing in Civil Projects and Electrical Substation Works (EPC). The ideal candidate will take full end-to-end ownership of project execution—spanning initial design coordination, civil site preparation, equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover. You will ensure that all projects are completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

- Lead the end-to-end execution of civil and structural works specifically tailored for electrical substations (typically ranging from 11kV up to 132kV / 220kV or higher voltage levels).
- Oversee site mobilization, layout planning, leveling, earthworks, control building construction, transformer foundations, equipment support structures, boundary walls, and cable trenches.
- Develop comprehensive master schedules (using tools like MS Project or Primavera), micro-schedules, and resource allocation plans.

1. Technical & Engineering Coordination

- Review and interpret engineering drawings, structural designs, architectural blueprints, single-line diagrams (SLDs), equipment layouts, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate closely with electrical teams to synchronize civil foundations with heavy electrical equipment placement (e.g., switchgear, transformers, bus bars, isolators, and panels).
- Address and resolve Request for Information (RFIs)

and site engineering bottlenecks alongside consultants and design teams.

1. Budget, Cost Control & Procurement

- Manage financial tracking, budget control, and cost estimation for civil and infrastructure scopes.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to source raw materials (concrete, steel, aggregates) and specialized substation construction items efficiently.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, evaluate progress billing, review contractor running/final bills, and implement value engineering where applicable.

1. Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)

- Strictly enforce safety regulations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and statutory compliance on-site to achieve zero-accident goals.
- Oversee the implementation of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plans, inspection test plans (ITPs), and material compliance tracking.

1. Stakeholder Management & Reporting

- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, utility providers, internal leadership, subcontractors, and statutory authorities.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports covering cost metrics, schedule status, risk analysis, and mitigation steps.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. (An additional credential in Project Management is a plus).
- Experience: 5 to 10+ years of progressive experience in managing infrastructure projects, with a strong, demonstrable portfolio in substation civil and EPC construction works.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of civil construction processes tied to power utilities and switchyards.
- Familiarity with electrical layouts, equipment integration, and interface management between civil and electrical teams.
- Software Proficiency: Competency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera) and engineering drawing viewers (AutoCAD).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, negotiation, and cross-functional team coordination capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working directly with major power utilities, energy grids, or reputable EPC contractors.
- Valid Skilled Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Application Question(s): How many years of experience do you have managing site surveys, measurements, and mapping projects as part of your civil execution oversight?

What is your hands-on experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or GIS software to review survey data and finalize topographic plans?

Are you currently based in Porbandar, or are you willing to relocate to lead this project on-site?

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
