About Us
Amarra Philanthropic Foundation (APF) company incorporated under Section 8 of Companies Act working on legal aid and legal literacy for women. Our work sits at the intersection of legal empowerment, behavioural insight, and systems change. We work to make legal rights easier to understand, justice systems easier to navigate, and pathways to support more accessible.
Alongside legal aid and legal literacy, we provide ancillary support where needed and collaborate with NGOs and community organisations to connect women with relevant services and resources. We believe that meaningful access to justice requires more than knowing the law, it requires understanding the barriers that shape people’s decisions and working towards systems that are more responsive, accessible, and equitable. Our mission is to build an integrated ecosystem that makes justice available, accessible, and appropriate for every woman, regardless of her starting point.
As an early-stage organisation, APF is building its programmes, team, and ways of working from the ground up. Our approach is grounded in community realities, with a focus on making justice more accessible, appropriate, available and affordable.
The Role The Program Coordinator builds and sustains the programme's grassroots presence working directly with local health and welfare functionaries, including ASHA and Anganwadi workers, to identify community members in need of support, drive participation, and lay the groundwork for outreach, workshops, and campaigns led by Fellows and volunteers. As the organization is in its early, foundational stage,
this role calls for someone comfortable working with ambiguity, solving problems on the fly, and building processes as they go.
What You Will Actually Be Doing
- Lead community outreach and awareness-building at the grassroots level, with a focus on last-mile engagement.
- Build and maintain solid working relationships with ASHA and Anganwadi workers, leveraging their local trust and networks to reach community members effectively.
- Liaise with relevant government departments, local authorities, and functionaries (e.g., ICDS, health department, Gram Panchayat) to secure the permissions, cooperation, and support programme activities need on the ground.
- Mobilize community members, local leaders, and frontline workers for workshops, trainings, and door-to-door campaigns.
- Build relationships with local community structures, panchayats, and resident groups to support long-term programme visibility.
- Take the lead on conducting needs assessments to inform programme design and priorities.
- Support implementation of the programme on the ground, and provide strategic input to management on programme direction and approach.
- Collaborate closely with Fellows, Program Associates,
and other stakeholders to ensure ground realities inform programme design and delivery.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and briefs on programme activities and ground learnings.
- Provide ground inputs, stories, and pictures to support the Social Media & Communications function.
Who We're Looking For
- Strong community rapport-building and communication skills.
- Proven ability to navigate and coordinate with government departments and local authorities — someone who can get things done on the ground.
- Fluency in Hindi, and cultural familiarity with communities across Delhi/NCR.
- Comfort working across multiple stakeholders: community members, frontline workers, local leaders, and internal programme teams.
- Go-getter attitude with a bias for action comfortable figuring things out and pushing initiatives forward with limited hand-holding.
- Adaptability and resilience to navigate the ambiguity and challenges that come with building a programme from the ground up.
- Basic event and campaign coordination.
What You Bring
- 1–3 years of experience in the social sector, with a focus on community mobilization, outreach, or grass roots development work.
- Master's degree in social work preferred; equivalent grassroots mobilization experience will also be considered.
- Demonstrated familiarity with how ASHA and Anganwadi worker networks function, and prior experience engaging with them, strongly preferred
