RECRUITMENT – PROFESSOR OF PRACTICE (PoP)

Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology (LIET) invites applications from accomplished industry professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators, and experienced practitioners for engagement as Professor of Practice (PoP), Associate Professor of Practice, and Assistant Professor of Practice across relevant academic disciplines.

The engagement is intended to strengthen Industry–Institute Interaction, bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial practice, and provide students with meaningful exposure to industry-oriented knowledge, emerging technologies, innovation, entrepreneurship, consultancy, and practical learning.

ELIGIBILITYProfessor of Practice Candidates should meet any one of the following criteria:

- Ph.D. with 10 years of relevant experience in a reputed organization; OR
- Master's degree with 15 years of relevant work experience in a reputed organization; OR
- B.Tech. with 17 years of relevant work experience in a reputed organization; OR
- Ph.D./Master's/B.Tech. with a minimum of 5 patents and 5 years of startup experience.

Associate Professor of Practice

- Ph.D. with 5 years of relevant experience in a reputed organization; OR
- Master's degree with 10 years of relevant work experience in a reputed organization; OR
- B.Tech. with 12 years of relevant work experience in a reputed organization; OR
- Ph.D./Master's/B.Tech. with a minimum of 5 patents and 3 years of startup experience.

Assistant Professor of Practice

- Master's degree with 5 years of relevant work experience in a reputed organization; OR
- B.Tech. with 7 years of relevant work experience in a reputed organization; OR
- Ph.D./Master's/B.Tech. with relevant patents and startup experience as prescribed in the Institute's PoP policy.





The eligibility criteria are based on the AICTE/UGC framework adopted by LIET. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The selected Professor of Practice will be expected to:

- Deliver lectures and sessions on emerging technologies, industry practices, and real-world applications.
- Undertake assigned academic course work.
- Conduct laboratory/practical sessions wherever applicable.
- Mentor students in projects, internships, innovation, and skill development.
- Facilitate industry–institute interaction and cooperative activities.
- Contribute to curriculum enrichment and outcome-based education.
- Conduct workshops, seminars, and faculty/student development programmes.
- Support consultancy, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship initiatives.
- Provide practical insights and industry-oriented learning experiences to students.

EXAMINATION RESPONSIBILITIES The Professor of Practice may also be required to undertake examination-related responsibilities for assigned courses, including:

- Question paper setting
- Evaluation of answer scripts
- Practical examinations
- Viva-voce examinations
- Project evaluation
- Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) activities

All examination-related responsibilities shall be carried out in accordance with LIET and affiliating University norms. NATURE OF ENGAGEMENT

- The engagement shall be contractual in nature.
- The engagement will be based on the academic and institutional requirements of LIET.
- The engagement is exclusive of regular sanctioned faculty positions.
- Appointment shall be subject to approval by the Competent Authority and applicable AICTE/UGC guidelines.
- Performance may be reviewed periodically based on academic contribution and student outcomes.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
