Product Manager — Intelligence & Internal Systems — 1acre.in
Land is the most opaque market in India. People still get burned buying a plot because the basic information — is it verified, who owns it, what's the master plan, can I even reach the seller — is scattered or hidden.
We're fixing that. 1acre is India's verified land & plot marketplace: 16,000+ verified lands and plots on one live map, real sellers you can contact directly, no spam. Mission is simple — solve the information problem in land. Verify it, make it instantly discoverable, help people transact at scale. Then take it global.
Two things here are bottlenecked on people, not ideas. Our intelligence layers need to expand faster and hold higher quality. And our internal teams are managing deal flow without a system that fits how land actually gets sold. You own both — with AI as a force multiplier at every step.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Data layers & intelligence
- Sourcing, coverage, and quality of our map layers — survey numbers, master plans, metro, air funnels, cadastral, heritage.
- The full pipeline from raw government or survey data to a published, verified, correctly-attributed layer, plus the state-wise layer pages that go with it.
- Coverage and accuracy are your numbers. When a layer is wrong, it's yours to catch before a user does.
- This work directly feeds our organic search strategy — every well-built layer page is a page that can rank. You'll work closely with the Senior PM on it.
CRM & internal deal-flow systems
- Sales and ops teams currently manage buyer enquiries, seller onboarding, and verification without custom tooling.
- Choose, configure, and run the CRM, including land deal pipeline stages, lead routing, WhatsApp/call-log integration, ownership rules, and reporting.
- Drive CRM adoption by observing team workflows directly and removing friction.
Instrumentation & reporting
- Define and maintain the Mixpanel event layer.
- Build the funnels and dashboards the team makes decisions on.
- Publish the weekly numbers, and be the person who notices something moved and says so before anyone asks.
Quality,
end to end
- Turn problems into specs crisp enough that both engineers and AI agents can build from them with zero guesswork.
- Partner with design (Figma) on flows, edge cases, empty and error states, and the copy that goes with them.
- Own the test plan. Verify on real devices. Confirm the analytics events actually fire. Sign off before anything launches.
- Content audits, competitor teardowns, support-ticket patterns. Unglamorous, and the fastest way to learn where the product actually hurts.
HOW WE WORK
We ship, then we decide. Something small in front of real users in two weeks beats two months of research. Features get killed often and that's normal — the point is to learn fast, not to be right the first time.
- Bias to action: When something is unclear, go find out. Don't wait for the answer to arrive in a meeting.
- Explicit ownership and tracking: Every launch carries a metric and a decision date before it goes out.
- Radical transparency: When something you built isn't working, say so early. Nobody here is punished for that. Sitting on it is the actual mistake.
YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS
Month 1 — Learn the product cold: every filter, every layer, every listing flow. Sit with the verification and ops teams and follow a listing from submission to live. Get on 10 buyer and seller calls and write up what you heard.
Month 2 — Own your first layer end to end, from data sourcing to published page. Map the deal-flow process as it actually runs, not as anyone says it runs.
Month 3 — CRM configured and used daily by the sales team. Weekly metrics report running without anyone asking for it.
YOU'RE A FIT IF YOU
- Have ≈1–2 years of work experience.
Your function matters less than your curiosity and your throughput — analyst, engineering, ops, growth, consulting, or PM all work.
- Are comfortable with data and unforgiving detail. Spreadsheets fluent, willing to learn SQL fast. Layer work punishes carelessness.
- Are genuinely AI-native — you use LLMs every day to spec, prototype, clean data, test, and analyze, and you have real opinions about where they help.
- Write with precision. Short sentences, real conclusions, nothing ambiguous.
- Are organised enough to run a system other people depend on.
- Treat QA as your job, not someone else's — it's not "done" until you've tried to break it.
- Know (or will rapidly learn) the Indian land context — survey numbers, plots vs lands, cents/gaj, master plans, district-level nuance.
- Will go to the field. Site visits, revenue offices, conversations with agents in their language.
- Take feedback well and act on it the same week.
- Sweat the details AND move fast. Both, not one.
BONUS POINTS
- Any exposure to GIS, maps, QGIS, or government land records.
- Have set up or administered a CRM — HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce, Kylas, LeadSquared, any of them.
- SQL, Python, or scripting to clean and reconcile messy datasets.
- Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, or Hindi for user and agent conversations.
- Hands-on with Figma, Linear/Jira, Mixpanel/Google Analytics.
- A side project, teardown, or portfolio — anything showing you think about products unprompted.
WHY 1ACRE
- A real problem at real scale: Every honest fix here protects someone's life savings.
- AI-first for real: We ship with modern AI tooling, we don't just talk about it.
- Small team, high ownership, fast decisions: Your work goes live, not into a backlog.
- Direct access: Work directly with the founder and the senior PM, gaining ownership faster than at a larger company.
