About the role

We’re looking for a hands-on Product Engineer who will work directly with Crucibl’s two technical founders.

You’ll act as an execution partner between the founders and the engineering team—turning product direction into explicit workstreams, coordinating interns, owning selected features, and ensuring technical projects move forward without requiring constant founder involvement.

This is also a partially forward-deployed role. At times, you’ll work from a client’s office to understand their requirements, support implementations, manage technical rollouts, and bring customer learnings back into the product.

This is not a pure management position. You’ll write code, review work, debug production issues, and take ownership of delivery.

What you’ll do

Own selected features from requirements through development and release.

Translate founder and customer inputs into clear technical plans.

Coordinate engineering interns and review their work.

Keep projects moving and proactively resolve blockers.

Write and review production code across the stack.

Support deployments, infrastructure, monitoring, and production issues.

Work directly with clients during discovery and implementation.

Maintain clear communication between the founders, engineering team, and clients.

Improve engineering processes without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.

What we’re looking for

2–4 years of hands-on software engineering experience.

Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals.





Experience shipping and maintaining production software.

Ability to independently own a feature or technical workstream.

Comfortable working directly with technical founders and customers.

Strong communication, judgment, and project ownership.

Willingness to mentor and coordinate interns.

Comfortable operating with incomplete requirements and changing priorities.

Based in Mumbai and open to hybrid work and occasional client-site visits.

You don’t need formal management experience. We care more about whether you can take ownership, communicate clearly, and reliably ship technical work.

Good to have

Experience at an early-stage startup.

Experience mentoring junior engineers or interns.

Familiarity with modern web development, cloud infrastructure, and production systems.

Experience building AI-enabled or data-intensive products.

Experience working directly with customers on technical implementations.

This role may not be for you if

You want a pure management position.

You only want to work on narrowly defined tickets.

You need detailed specifications before starting.

You’re uncomfortable interacting directly with clients.

You prefer discussing architecture over shipping.
