Role overview:

You will take ownership of the technical review of client-issued plumbing information from initial review through coordinated delivery. Complete system design remains with the client. Your responsibility is to understand the design intent in depth, identify gaps, verify compliance and constructability, resolve technical and coordination issues, and provide internal technical clearance before client submission.

This role suits an engineer who can read a complete plumbing package, connect information across disciplines and project stages, and recognise when an issued solution is incomplete, inconsistent or impractical to build.

What you will own:

- Understand the complete input. Review layouts, schematics, risers, specifications, equipment schedules, issued calculations, and architectural and structural information. Establish the design intent and identify missing, conflicting or ambiguous information before delivery progresses.
- Review technical correctness. Check the consistency of pipe sizes, gravity falls, invert levels, pressure zones, venting, valves, cleanouts, pumps, tanks and plant-room arrangements against the issued design basis and schedules.
- Verify constructability. Confirm that systems can be routed, installed, accessed, tested and maintained. Review clearances, penetrations, equipment space, access zones and interfaces with architecture, structure and other building services.
- Apply codes and project standards. Use applicable provisions of the National Building Code of India (NBC), relevant Indian Standards, CPHEEO guidance, local building bye-laws, authority requirements and client standards. Identify non-compliance and cite the governing requirement where applicable.
- Raise and close technical issues. Prepare precise RFIs and technical queries that identify the location and document reference, explain the issue and its impact, and recommend a practical resolution.



Maintain actions through closure and verify that approved decisions are reflected consistently.
- Review the full drawing lifecycle. Check coordinated layouts, installation and shop drawings, risers, schematics, plant-room details, builder's work and penetration information, schedules, details, revisions and as-built drawings for completeness and consistency.
- Lead technical coordination. Explain issues and recommendations clearly in client and coordination meetings, record decisions, close actions, and maintain alignment across architectural, structural and building services information.
- Provide internal technical clearance. Confirm compliance, coordination, constructability, completeness and consistency before client issue. This clearance supports quality control and does not constitute statutory design certification.

What you bring:

- 3-6 years of substantive plumbing experience in a design consultancy, plumbing contractor or site execution environment. Depth of technical responsibility matters more than job title.
- Strong understanding of domestic cold and hot water; sanitary, soil, waste and vent systems; rainwater and stormwater; tanks, pumps and associated plant-room arrangements.
- Ability to read a complete document package, establish design intent, and cross-check plans, sections, risers, schematics, schedules, specifications and revisions.
- Working knowledge of Indian plumbing practice and the ability to find and apply applicable code provisions, standards, guidance, local bye-laws and authority requirements.
- Sound constructability judgement across routing, gravity falls, access, maintenance, penetrations, equipment space, multidisciplinary coordination and as-built conditions.
- Ability to write transparent, technically defensible RFIs and technical queries, and to distinguish a design issue from a coordination conflict or missing input.
- Above-average spoken English and clear written English for client meetings, technical discussions, issue records and action closure.
- A disciplined self-checking habit and the confidence to withhold clearance for an incorrect or incomplete deliverable until the issue is resolved.
